I was going to suggest Sine as well, but it's good to have other options.... last couple of times I've been there, it's been very crowded and they didn't take reservations and the wait was at least an hour. It's a very "lively" (i.e., crowded, happy-hour) type of place. There are other good options as well in the same complex, including Lebanese Taverna and such, so we could always try for Sine but head somewhere else if we can't (or don't want to) wait. Boyaremyarmstired, were you still thinking of 9 pm? Depending on the time you're free, I may go home first, so please let me know what time you were thinking about and we'll go from there. Email or PM me later so we can exchange cell phone numbers, if you wish. Thanks!

Sorry I haven't checked this thread in a few days. I'll call Sine's tomorrow morning & see if I can make a reservation there for about 8 people. I did a work function there once, so I think they do take reservations. If not, I'll try Chammp's & report back tomorrow.

Yes, I was thinking 9:00. I will show up at Sine's unless I read here otherwise. Thanks!

I just called them - they said they'd see what they can do - I asked for a party of 12 under Flyertalk (they only take reservations for 10 or more) - no promises, but they'll try to hold space in the non-smoking area - but it'll be based on their crowd. I've PM'ed BAMAT my cell number & the rest of us can pretty much recognize each other - any newbies? look for the random group talking about points & miles!

Cool, bhatnasx! I look forward to seeing you again. I think you may still have my cell phone #; BAMAT and I also just exchanged cell phones via PM, so we can easily find each other. If not, just look for me, someone 5'4", average height/weight, long straight brown hair (boy, I sound really "average," huh? ) wearing all blue with a red-white-and-blue scarf.... friends in the office say I'm looking quite ready for the elections after last night's debate, but in truth I just tried to somewhat "dress up" a very casual outfit I had at my boyfriend's house!

I'll see you all at 9. If you don't get me on my cell phone, leave a message as I may be working out around the corner at Bally's and the reception there isn't too good.

Sounds great. Thanks for looking after the place-choice, etc. I will be there at 9:00. I'll be the vertically challenged, curly-haired brunette wearing all black. Thanks for you cell phone numbers too...if I can't find you, I'll give you a call.

Thanks so much bhatnasx and Gator Gal and HeadintheClouds for the great company at Sine's. It was so great to meet some of the DC FT crowd. Much more fun than room service and work.

Safe travels tomorrow, bhatnasx (and thank you for the ride). Good luck with the traffic ticket GatorGal, and I'll look forward to hearing about your upcoming travels, HeadintheClouds!

Until next time...

J

It was great to finally meet you to. Feel free to look us up & let us know the next time you're in DC. It's always great when FT'ers from around the world (BAMAT's from Canada, so she counts as international ) join us for a drink in DC!

Yes! It was great to see you all! I enjoyed running into a couple of by-now-well-known FT friends and meeting a new one in the form of BAMAT. I'm glad you stopped in to see you and hope you have as much fun in Chicago at the chocolate event! FT gatherings are great places indeed.... where else can you get such good travel tips and, um, strategies for fighting a speeding ticket in court? Thanks again! Hey, let's take it further: any Arlington County traffic court judges in the house???
