welp, unless a kick-butt mileage run comes up (not bloody likely here!) I don't have any plans, so sure.

I'm suppose to fly back from MDW on July 1st, so I should be here. No plans after that, so this might work out.

Bump.....

Anyone else?? I was thinking of someplace close to the new light rail, that opens in about 2 weeks. There's a Bridgeman's and some Chinese place around 46th St/Hiawatha....... and Cap's Grill at 50th St. and Hiawatha. A couple more hole-in-the-wall places are around 54th St. and Hiawatha.

I'm interested...and should be around for the long holiday weekend.
Would need to fit it in around fireworks, golf, cooking out, golf, Taste of Minnnesota, golf and the grand Paddlewheel Riverboat Races on the Mississippi River!

So can I. I'm no fool....

.... good thing you moved to the neighborhood.

FWIW, the places I was thinking of are next to Minnehaha Falls..... although putting together a barbecue sounds like a lot of work.

Re. actual date/time, I'm thinking Saturday? Lunchtime??

----------------------------------

For folks who haven't been following progress of the light rail, the line will open next Saturday from downtown to Ft. Snelling, and from there, The Route 155 shuttle will go to the Airport, and on to the Mall of America. The 155 will only leave every 20 min. though.

The final portion of the rail line all the way to the airport and MOA will be done in December.

Looks like there will be trains about every 10 min., including Sundays. Much better than existing bus service. And Comicwoman, there will be tons of buses across the Ford Bridge.

OK, the PALM is marked for Saturday lunch. I can only assume that is more than the standard lunch hour.

Going once? Going twice?

I'm thinking 12:00 noon Saturday July 3...... Caps Grill on the corner of Hiawatha and 50th St. in Minneapolis.

Cap's Grill is at 5000 Hiawatha Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55417
Phone is 612-722-2277

Right at the 50th St. station of the Hiawatha Light Rail line and close to the airport: folks transiting MSP, this place is 4 miles from the airport as the crow/bus/taxi flies.
