Considered to be the weirdest beer type drink thus far on the pub crawl: Cherry limeade beer slushy

I have never seen such creativity with beer. How was it?

I like how in focus the backpack is.

Heh, I hadn't even noticed. Maybe an unconscious nod to Ryan Bingham

Hopefully not too unconscious...

Thanks everyone for indulging in my tour. Sorry we didn't make it to the end.

Wish I could continue today, but already at the airport to fly home. :(

We'll just have to go back for part 2 next year :)

Thanks to everyone who attended, it was a great weekend!

Same time next year?

Well I had hoped to postpone this discussion until later in the year :p but the short answer is "TBD"

There were some grumblings (both from some who attended and some who didn't) about airfare and hotel costs. I am not sure how much of that to attribute to ongoing "COVID revenge travel", spring break, conventions (visitsandiego website mentions "OPTICA-OPTICAL FIBER COMMUNICATIONS CONFERENCE & EXHIBIT / OFC 2023" March 7-10 which had 10k attendees), etc.

There is also the question of whether the US will still even have a DST time change next year, although from what I understand it only passed one house of Congress in which case it seems unlikely to change by 2024

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daylig..._United_States

And switching to another weekend also means avoiding the track work maintenance which is scheduled for this weekend every year, in which case those who can't make it in on Thurs/Fri due to work or other commitments could still do a coastal train excursion on Saturday. (The tiny handful of attendees in 2021 did a day trip to Coronado via ferry which might make a good replacement Friday activity in that case)

I'm open to discussion on all of this (as mentioned upthread, this is only loosely organized at best and I am the master of delegation), but it seem to me even if we moved weekends there's no guarantee some other convention wouldn't pick the same weekend.

In conclusion, shrug? Or, time to start stockpiling points/certs just in case :p

Thanks for your efforts, everyone! It was lovely seeing so many faces, both familiar and new. Sorry I couldn’t make more events but hopefully next time!

I hope this continues. Highly likely the +1 and I will be there.
