Ok, we can snag a four-person reservation for Mothership on Thursday at 5PM with refundable deposit (24h cancel). Updating the wiki now.

Reservations are available at 52 Remedies for 4-6 people on Friday night between 8PM and 10PM. This one is non-refundable so I’d like to ask for a firm commitment prior to booking. A reminder that the location is Kearny Mesa, north of downtown, but an area with excellent Asian cuisine along with a few breweries. If people are interested we’ll probably take an Uber, etc. from the Grand Hyatt to the area to get dinner prior to the 52 Remedies reservation. There’s also an option to connect on the return from Oceanside to the number 44 bus for a 33 minute ride from Old Town Transit Center to 52 Remedies.

I put myself down as "interested" in the mothership. I don't mind dropping out if you don't have enough space for me because more people want to go. (I live 15 minutes away, so I can go some other time).

Flights confirmed for in early afternoon Thurs, out early afternoon Sunday. Staying at Residence Inn Gaslamp because there seemed to be a hiccup the other day where instead of $300/nt it was $200/nt (though it may have been the other way and the high price was the anomaly). In either case, I do not need a kitchen, but I'll suffer thru the indignity if I have to.

Happy to go to Realm or Mothership or wherever Thursday, but also just as happy to do my own thing if the table's full.

Well as sort of expected, I think I have to withdraw. We are dealing with a major problem at home (insurance claim level) and work is fully off the rails right now. I’ll be canceling my flight and hotel later today. Bummed to miss it yet again.

Should you come north on Friday, consider the Coaster to Encinitas. The station is in downtown Encinitas and it is an easy walk to several restaurants. One possibility is Roxy. I don't drink so I'll leave the suggestion of micro breweries to others. I know there are several such as Modern Times.

If you want the alternative of the Coaster and Amtrak, you could jump off at the Solana Beach Station. Immediately across the Coast Highway is Pizza Port which has its own microbrewery.

Cool, will check these out -- had been debating whether we should do Oceanside again, or go for something new.

best thing that could happen to me right now is for us to finally bite the bullet and figure out how to get an IRS legit 6 months and a day in Idaho each year to get residency there then have a condo here. Mrs. PV is not amused with my plan. you are a wise man to get out when you did.

looking at it, we have spent $100k+ on this house since we bought it, I could have flown someone RT 200x or more on that at typical prices easily keeping up with work in person demands.

Ok if we grab the 11:20am Coaster (which is what we did last year) that puts us at Solana Beach at 11:59. Lest I be accused of outsourcing all decisions to others, I declare by fiat that it shall be so :p We can start at Pizza Port and go from there.

I'm in. SanDiego1K, do you know if it is easy to find cheap or free parking around there? Taking the coaster is fun, but from where I live, it might be more convenient to drive.

Street parking should be easy. I'm counting on it. Worse comes to worse (and I don't think it will), Coaster Station has a large free parking lot.

How is it getting from the Coaster station to Pizza Port? Will have a baby with me so ride hailing won't be an option. We'll probably go somewhere near the train station if it comes to it.
