RIP Lili
Wow ! I have not been coming to FT much lately and now it seems all I do is share sad news
Bill ( a real life friend of Pat's) called me today to let me know that she passed away on Tuesday.
Lili, Violist ( also gone - sigh) and Bill would come to Phoenix every year for spring training. We would go to a game, eat steaks , drink and reminisce .
She was an avid traveler and in recent years, before his passing , Violist frequent travel companion.
Below is a picture ( borrowed from another FT'er of Lili and Violest at the last SIN do they attended

I am so saddened to learn this. We last talked when Michael was in the hospital. A delightful person who made the world a brighter place. My sympathies to all who knew her.

Oh dear.
Dearest Pat (Lili). You were a dear friend and staple here on Flyertalk oh these many years. I think we first met at an early WineDo in Manhattan. You would become a regular at this event, along with our friend Michael (Violist). Pat also came along on the BRT (Brooklyn Tour). We last walked the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens in June 2019. Pat was a very nice person. She always made people feel warm and welcoming. Her long Flyertalk relationship with Violist was good for both of them.
Save me (us) a seat in first class Pat. Fly in style pretty lady. We'll make a special toast to you and Michael at WineDo this June.

Mrs. Cholula and I are VERY sorry to hear of Pat's passing. She was very much a part of my 20 year experience on FlyerTalk, including the very first DO we attended in Venice. I can't count the number of DOs, cities, and/or airports where we would see each other. Our hearts are sad.

Remembering so many wonderful Flyertalk events with lili
I'm repeating here what I have shared with some friends in private chats. I too have so many fond memories of places visited and time spent with lili. Her passing is indeed a sad occasion.
Pat was waiting for me at the luggage carousel in Krakow, and she was there at the check-in line at Le Meridien Grand Hotel Nuremburg and for gluhwein at Christmas market. We toured South Africa Parliament together.
Austrian (airline) in Vienna hosted us at their training facility. There was more than one Alaska DO including the infamous road trip from Nome to Teller which included a flat tire out on the tundra. Other transport challenges include the tiny leaky fishing boat trip across the South China Sea meandering around giant tankers as we went from Singapore to Malaysia.
I remember the annual after party on my rooftop patio during Soup DO, too many wine trips check that one cannot have too many wine trips. Remember Tarragona, Temecula, Pasco. Then there was also the Columbus Day Berlin DO and dinner atop the Reichstag, and so many more places.
What I said after violist's passing is also true of lili. There is nowhere in this world I can go that I will not think of her.

I was shocked to hear of Pat's passing and deeply saddened by it. I am very fortunate to have known her and have nothing but fond memories of seeing her at various Dos across the globe. She will be missed.

I don't come to FT often these days, but feel the need to be here to add how much she was appreciated and how much she will be missed. This is sad news to hear, but I'll try to focus on the many great times with Pat and Violist.

Pat & Michael were a part of so many DOs that I attended, from Star MegaDO 2 to Berlin. I will miss her smile and good advice over the years.

It is strangely cathartic reading of so many who have such dear memories, I share the surprise shock and sadness, but like each of you relish the memories. Particularly special to me is the time Pat and Michael came to my home in Tokyo and shared dinner with me.
Thank you Pat, your memory is a blessing to me.

goodby dear Pat
Marsha and I are deeply saddened because she is no longer with us. Fond memories of her leaning against our fireplace and trying to empty the wine cellar after a visit. I do not think that she missed a SinDo when I was involved.
We are hoisting a glass of Oregon Pinot to her memory.
