Sorry to be working ahead, but has any date been set for a December dinner?

In a moment of total insanity to lock in 1K, I just booked myself on a 25,000K UA mileage run from SYD - MIA via IAD both ways and from IAD will fly to and from SEA as well. :rolleyes:

I get to IAD 8.50 pm Sun Dec 5 - too late for dinner unless I cab it to where it might be underway. (That sounds VERY familiar. ;))

I also have between Dec 5 and Dec 9 at 5.35pm to kill, and to get to and from SEA in the meantime. (I'll be in SEA in a 2 weeks on another run, so can make that a day or 2 round trip flight from IAD if I need to)

So if Monday Dec 6 looks OK I can stay around for dinner, or even the evening of Wed Dec 8.

My dear lady thinks the whole idea is borderline psychiatric ward stuff, and is staying put in SYD. ^

Anyway, Sam or the organising gang might be able to add some input here. :D

Gotta agree with her on this one, Glen! I got confused just reading what you were writing. December's date isn't set yet - but I'm sure we'd be able to schedule ourselves to coincide with your schedule - what works best for you? I should be able to do any one (or multiples) of those dates as I'll be moving to Fairfax at the end of November, so I'll actually be closer to IAD.

Count me in as well! It'd be nice to see you again, and I also would be happy to work around your schedule, even if all we end up doing is meeting at an airport bar or restaurant. I spend a lot of time at my boyfriend's, which is just 10 miles from IAD, so chances are I'll be in the neighborhood anyway. The only "iffy" part is that Dec. 7 is my birthday so if my boyfriend and/or friends want to do something, I may have to bail on you guys. BTW, MileageAddict, I'm still thinking of joining you all next weekend (and/or the stuff for this weekend); I'll respond when I know for sure.

Just an hour before it was ticked I saw a SYD-NYC deal that was $400 cheaper than SYD-IAD and schmoozed them to swap them. SYD-NYC-SYD is about $US800 RT, but they will NOT let me route that via IAD sadly. :td:

This was 105% a few day mileage run to lock in 1K again, so went for the NYC deal. Hope to be passing thru IAD later January, and hope to catch up with many of the regulars then. :)

I think I can make it this weekend and I'll bring a couple others, so that will be three more for laser tag! I'll post on MA's thread.

Just wanted to give this thread a little bump & to let everyone know that I had asked Sowalsky, the moderator of the WAS Airport Forum (BWI/IAD/DCA) to sticky a link to this at the top of that forum. Sowalsky kindly obliged - so now, a little less searching will need to be done as there's a link sticked at the top of that forum.

I hope to see you all on Saturday, but probably won't know if I'll be able to make it until then (I have to be at work at my weird part-time job on Sunday at 7:30AM, so I don't know if I'll be able to make it out to the IAD-side of the world!).

With your recent change of address, IAD isn't all that far out of your way anymore :p Try to make it for dinner if not for the game afterwards.

True - but I'm still technically in Arlington til the 11/30 - then it's officially Fairfax after that! This weekend is tough because I only have this & next weekend to pack my house & move - I've got to work from the crack of dawn til about 6 on Sunday & I'm out of the country from the 20th-28th of November. I will make an effort to be there, but I can't promise that!

Any ideas &/or dates for December? I should be able to make it to an event anytime before the 19th of December. Did you all by chance discuss any possibilities at the laser tag event?

MA and GA and I talked about doing the Brickskeller in metro DC on Sunday, December 5 around 7 pm.

I'll be arriving in town from AMS that afternoon and I think markbach was going to come in as well.

I realize it is a Sunday night, but surely we can count the holidays as extra festive and start the week off right?

The Brickskeller on the 5th sounds good to me - I'll try to make it & will post that on the first page!
