Hi
Just joined and I wanted to say hello. I'm a grad student in Santa Barbara and will be completing my PhD in the next two months. I'm getting married next year and and currently I'm planning our honeymoon. I figured it was time to come out of lurking mode.

Congratulations and best wishes to you and your lucky spouse, and welcome to you and all the new members. |
I'm from Toronto. Enjoy travelling and outdoor physical activities like mountaineering and rock climbing, some skiing. Travel mostly within north america. Would like to visit Europe soon as time and circumstances permit. :)

I know you didn't mean it that way, but it's Friday afternoon and the juxtaposition :D just hit my funny bone.

Hi all. I'm originally from upstate NY (Syracuse and Rochester), I just relocated to Seattle about 6 months ago and I'm loving it. I do a lot of domestic travel for work and to see family back on the East Coast, with a few international trips a year to Europe and Asia. I've flown UA for years but with the move to Seattle and other factors, Delta is much more appealing, and I'll be starting from ground zero with them in the upcoming year. I'm already looking at mileage runs :) I'm an engineer at a consumer products development consultancy, a foodie (one of the reasons I love Seattle), and a lover of the outdoors and hiking (another reason).
I'd love to meet more Seattle FTers around town, so please feel free to message me to meet up for happy hour, coffee, whatever. |

Hey guys/gals! Long time lurker here, about to graduate from business school in Canada. Landed myself a consulting job based out of Toronto, with a lot of travel attached, so I figured I'd sign up and start contributing/asking questions. Can't wait until I start collecting miles!
Like AC, LOVE Westjet, but my favourite airline has to be Cathay Pacific. Flew them once, and got an upgrade because I'm tall...one of the few times I've appreciated being tall in an airplane :) Also like to run marathons and swim, so I'm interested in triathlons, but I've never done a full one before. |
Hello everyone. I'm originally from Tampa and moved to Charlotte 2 years ago. I work as a Network Engineer and will be taking my very first Int'l flight to KIX next week.

international traveller
Based in Aberdeen - travel frequently throughout Europe, Mid East, Far East, N America, Central Asia.
Prefer routing through Schipol rather than Heathrow. |
Finally de-lurking! I'm based out of San Francisco (love those fog delays) and fly frequently for my job in tech (mostly to Asia - at least 1x a month), internationally and domestically. Huge plane nerd. Looking forward to participating in the forum!
I went to UCLA and studied international development; now working in SF after a stint in Africa in the Peace Corps; have traveled to over 30 countries. Married to United given my home airport - hit 1K in a few months this year. Fly their *A partners all I can (shoutout to ANA; used to be Asiana but since July, not so much.) Outside of travel: I run marathons and am traveling for an Ironman, which is super easy when traveling internationally all the time. Not. Would love tips from anyone who does it! |
Welcome to all that have recently introduced themselves !!

Wow... goes to show you all the corners of FT you know nothing about without exploring.
Joined recently after constantly getting FT in the google results as I searched how to navigate my new UA status. I don't fly for work (with the exception of job interviews, but hopefully those don't keep happening) but being single with family all over the country (8 states, all four corners of the 48) I'm the one who travels. I've always been interested in aviation and never minded traveling so I'm enjoying it while it lasts and have no idea what's next. FT has been a great resource and I'm definitely interested in getting more into the community aspect. Which led me here as I read over the SS announcement. |
