Hi, I am "new" to the site- I knew about it for a long time and visited a couple of times but always got discourage by the massif amount of information on it (that's a good thing) and never really got over how hard was it is to use/find the information that applies to me.
I've spent the last 12 years traveling (way more than the average person) both for travel and work. I lived in three different countries, in three different continents and just now realise how much more I could enjoyed and accumulated if I used the right techniques. I plan to never stop exploring the world so I believe it's not too late to start doing it the RIGHT way.
While I get familiar with the all the techniques I would like to asked anyone out there to help me/us (I am sure a lot of people are in the same position) with a quick example:
I live in Colombia, currently silver in LM program with about 50k miles. I need to travel MOS-BOG-MOS Sept16-Oct16 3days. I also have miles in BAEC, AA but not as many. I'm mostly interested in accumulating the most miles for the money, trying to decide which program is best knowing I am based in Colombia, already have silver status on LM and will mostly be traveling to USA, Europe and South America in the near future.
I know it's a lot to ask but if anyone is willing to help it will be much appreciated (by many).
Regards from Bogota!

Actually, that area is pretty nice. I lived in Texarkana for a few years and know the area a bit. But still a hillbilly in the Ozarks...
There are some pretty good BBQ joints in Arkansas for sure, but if you really want good BBQ, go to Memphis... The Arkies took the best and moved it just across the Mississippi River...
My favorite is Rendevous, but there are several around Memphis that are well known and good eatin'...

Just saying Hi
Hi all,
My name is David, live in the UK just west of London Heathrow airport. Don't fly as much as I used to but still love flying and pretty much everything about planes.
I am a BAEC Silver member and have a host of hotel cards. Looking forward to learning loads from the forum and contributing any useful info I have too.

Zach here. Although I've been on FT for a while now, this is my first intro post.
I'm a first-year student at Kellogg (Northwestern), and have lived in Shanghai for the last five years working first as an accountant for a transportation company, then as an ops manager at another firm in the broader logistic field. I'm moving to Evanston, IL tomorrow.
I'm married with a 6-month old, so I expect that the leisure travel budget will be pared back significantly over the next two years

Thanks. At least I can watch the planes fly overhead. I'm glad to move to a city with great food, at least, even if the winters are a bit...challenging.

Today is my 50th birthday. One of my birthday resolutions is to re-qualify for Delta Diamond Medallion 2015, by January 8, 2014. That means I have to fly 125,000 base miles without counting the class MQM bonus. Last December, I flew 50,000 MQM in 8 days. So this will be a double effort.
I am proposing to create a contest between Flyer Talk members to propose a list of itineraries to reach that goal. The appreciation of this effort for the winner of the contest, is a fully paid companion flights, Ritz Carlton hotels and the best dining. It will be an amazing experience.
As a new Flyer Talk member, I would appreciate the guidelines and suggestions.
Note: I am posting here, since it looks like you are all long time members.
