I'm Maya and I used to travel a lot. I can't believe how expensive airline tickets are now. I belong to Delta skymiles; used to belong to Continental Mileage Plus. I am a published author and need to travel more. I live in Hawaii. I tried to call skymiles today and was put on hold for an hour, gave up. I need to be here. Aloha

Hitchhike?

You will be able to find some great ways to save money and use points to get places, but it won't be free. One thing you won't find though, which I think could be very helpful to you, is an abundance of information about Greyhound. Their cheapest fares are usually on their website, and are cheapest when booked in advance IME. You'll probably spend some portion of travel (especially entering and while within Mexico) onboard affiliates Valley Transit and Americanos. It will still be a single ticket, though. Do sign up for Road Rewards, their frequent traveler program. It's free, and you get a 10%-off coupon just for signing up.

Best of luck,

-J.

Hello,

I am an aviation enthusiast who has visited over two dozen countries and lived in four. I am already part of some FlyerTalk spin-off forums and just felt like finally joining the original after browsing through here for over ten years.

Cheers

2013 Jason Dahl Scholarship Fund Recepient Introduction

Hello,

My name is Eddie Owiti, and I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself to the Flyer Talk Forums.

I am currently a sophomore attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ. I am studying Aeronautical Science, specifically with an Airline Pilot specialty. I am also hoping to minor in Safety Science as well as either Management or Air Traffic Control.

In my spare time, I enjoy becoming involved in the community. I volunteered at a hospital for two years. I am now involved on campus as a new member of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity, and Silver Wings, a sister civilian organization of the Arnold Air Society that promotes professional development and service in the community.

Winning the scholarship was an exciting moment for me because it not only made me realize that spending the time to go the extra mile pays off, but that the aviation community is very much supported by those involved. The award also has inspired me to want to help those around me that would like to start a path towards becoming a pilot.

If you have any further questions feel free to PM me.

Hello Kakkakda, welcome to Flyertalk.

Within Flyertalk there are numerous forums, specifically for your question, the Singapore forum would probably be a good place to start:

In the Singapore forum there is this existing thread on bus travel between Singapore & Kuala Lumpur: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/singa...umpur-bus.html

I would suggest you read & repost your question in this thread.

Thanks for your information. Interestingly enough, I work in Health Care and am interested in working in the aviation industry. My dream was to be an airline pilot but just working for an airline would be dream. Any tips on how to market myself.
