Ditto on the welcome to FlyerTalk!
And we agree that the thread is perhaps better suited for this hallowed location.

About Me
I am new to the forum. I am not a frequent flyer, but have been a WP member for many years to try and earn miles for our family vacation this year.
I am from MSP and am a started checking out the forum when I found out how hard it would actually be to try and redeem the miles I had earned.

new to this forum
Hello
Steve here from Winnipeg, MB, Canada.
My interest in this forum is to gain more understanding and knowledge of how best to use my collect Aeroplan points for travel.
I suspect as in many such programs that if one new about things insiders know one could make much greater use of reward points.
For instance does this plan have any kind of 'last minute' deals.
How do I get two adults and two children (11 & 12) down to Belize for a week or two on my points.
I find the aeroplan site not so friendly but more a about marketing what they want to sell you.
So in a nutshell I'm looking for tips and tricks to get the most of out of my points.
I'm interested in any feedback that along these lines, thanks,
Steve

I am a student at Wichita State University.
My favorite activities: snorkeling, riding horses, people watching, photography, writing, reading, cooking, and visiting historical sites.
Places I want to visit (in no particular order):
Puerto Rico, Italy, Ireland, UK, France, Spain, Greece, Czech Republic, Costa Ricad, Panama, Argentina, Peru, Chile, Australia, India....
I have been to Playa del Carmen (south of Cancun) and Belize, and I loved them both.
I recently joined the AA and UA programs. I want to travel to Pheonix more often to visit family, and that is one long drive! I also anticipate traveling more with my son.
My mom recommended FT, and it looks like a great place to learn about traveling.

Hi! After being a lurker for many years, I finally joined FT after reading all the kind members who jumped in to give tips and advice to a member who is stranded in ZRH right now. You are the kind of people I respect and hope to hang out with.
I am Vikidom, a recent retiree living near SFO. Yes, I can see the airport from my living room window. My wanderlust have taken me to all 7 continents. I also volunteer once a week at the USO located in the airport. My next travels will be to India and the Philippines and now on the early stages of planning for the 2010 travels.

So I found the welcome page.
Well I found this forum.
I'm new to flyertalk, 24 - based in Australia and fly a bit for holidays to the US / Asia with the great sale fares this year.
Making use of the great resources available on this site, and would like to meet some other travellers.
Cheers
David

Welcome to FT!
As you spend more time here, you'll see that FT is organized into focused forum areas. That's the only way to keep an online community with about 200,000 members and millions of posts from degenerating into total chaos.
The CommunityBuzz area in FT has a specific thread for people to introduce themselves to us. I'm going to see if a moderator can move this to that area, and perhaps merge it with that thread.
Enjoy your stay here, Melina!
