I'm bummed after making the first two STIFFS events I'm going to have to miss this one.
Will just have to maek a trip to TUS sometime to try this Old Correl Steakhouse. Always have room for steak.
Have a great weekend everyone.

With less then 2 weeks to go I thought I'd bring this thread up and try to get a head count.
Is anybody going to be around on Friday night? Interested in some Mexican Food in South Tucson?
Otherwise the events are:
Saturday day trip to Kitt Peak National Observatory with picnic lunch.
Saturday evening dinner at El Corral restaurant.
Sunday trip to Kartchner Caverns, any word on reservations Jan?

I'm 99 % certain I'll be around that weekend. If so, Friday is a maybe depending on timing; I'll be free for dinner on Saturday, but busy in the morining/afternoon; I drive back to NM on Sunday, so no time for a cave tour.

I haven't heard anything except what's been posted on this thread. I'll email you my phone number, if you're in town and want to get together for dinner give me a call.

Since Old Gold has no energy this year ( not that I blame him - this heat is sapping all of us
) - I will suggest 7pm for dinner. But Paul can you make a reservation
I will let Paul suggest the time for Kitts Peak

The latest plans are:
Kitt Peak National Observatory
Saturday afternoon, Kitt Peak is about 55 miles west of Tucson. Take Ajo Way west (exit 99 on I-19) , it becomes highway 86.
We'll meet at 12 noon at Three Points, (Robles Junction) on highway 86 where Highway 286 goes south. (about half way between Tucson and Kitt Peak) There's a gas station and store on the SE corner, we can pick up stuff for lunch there, there's no gas or food on the mountain. We'll bring an ice chest.
It should be a good day for Kitt Peak, the NWS is predicting 100 degree temperatures for tomorrow, Kitt Peak, at 6,800 feet wil be 15-20 degrees cooler.
Dinner at El Corral
2201 E. River Road, just east of the intersection of North Campbell Ave.
Let's try to meet at 6:45, El Ccorral doesn't take reservatiions so we can have some drinks in the bar while we wait for a table.
It might help if we know how many are coming when we arrive to get on the list for a table.
