My friend is bringing a 85 BV Reserve. Also a half btl. of Yalumba Muscat Reserve, nonvintage, from the 70's.

I was going to bring a sticky but now, the notion of contributing to a Truly Great Bottle has its appeal, so please let me go in with you guys on one. Dan: that means we may be deficient in dessert wines, sorry.

Cellar, well, I'll tell you a story when we see each other.

Hmm, I don’t know about Truly Great but I guess we’ll find out tomorrow! See you soon.

I assure you that we are well aware of our host's requirements and that the offer to our friend violist was made with this in mind. I do not want to make a big deal of this, but please do not cast aspersions against those who have done nothing to deserve it. If our host has an issue with the actions or behavior of one of his guests, he would be well within his rights to let that party know directly and it will be dealt with in an adult manner.

Please let me know where I can buy the magnum for $50–I might want to pick up another one after the dinner if I like this one.

Dear old friends. I posted my one and only rant upthread. This has been my only issue, and as my daughter is fond of saying... end of discussion.

Looking forward to seeing everyone Sunday at 6:30.

I'm going to add stockmanjr and plainsman to the list. They're going to confirm Sunday morning. This will bring the list to 22 attendees. Looks like $2.00 per person additional will be needed.

stockmanjr and plainsman are confirmed.

Plainsman will bring a 2009 Bedrock Heirloom red wine from Sonoma. Howie will bring something from his trip to New Zealand.

The final extra cost, sorry for all the drama, is an extra dollar. $1.00.

See you at 6:30.

Apologies to Dan for the late change but when I went into my stash I found a syrah that deserved comparison to the Red Willow and St. Henri. It is a Long Shadows Sequel 2009 which we liked so much in the tasting room but never found again. So the Conflict will sit for another year or two and we will try to taste the three syrahs back-to-back-to-back.

Check at the Cellar d’Or in NY. They have it for 100. Or when next in Vienna you can buy it at Pub Klemo for about 70. Still amd all 3 x 35 is 105

Yes aspersions should not be cast. Good thing they weren’t. Just noting that the rules laid out for all are there for, well, all. I guess some may feel otherwise, but that is not my way. No biggie though, I’m sure it all worked out.

As always, we had a great time. Many thanks to Dan for all the work he puts in on this stuff. Next time I am meeting him, I will be bringing him a loaf from Orwashers.

Thanks again, Dan, and all the participants! I arrived a bit late (~7:00) but food orders had not yet been placed, nor had wine yet been served.

The filet mignon was as delicious as ever, the wine was all very good, and the company was convivial as always.
