Which Airport is Closest to Yankee Stadium?

I'm going to Yankees-Red Sox games July 4 straight from airport. Which airport is best to land at (EWR, LGA, JFK) to get to Yankee stadium?

Since no one else has answered, I would think LGA is the closest ...

It probably depends what type of transit you're going to use to get to Yankee Stadium. If you're driving, LGA is probably the easiest to get into the Bronx, and if you're using public transit, use EWR. There is train service into Manhattan, and then a subway connection, from EWR. I'm not sure you can easily do public transit from LGA, though you could from JFK (free bus to Howard Beach Station, and then subway ride...would be about an hour trip once you're on the subway).

Edited to add: Mapquest shows driving time from LGA as 15 mins, and from EWR at 30 mins.

If you're going straight to the game from the airport, a taxi from LGA is the only method that makes any sense to me. Public transportation is possible, but it involves connections and considerable time. Driving a rental car would be insane.

It's 10.6 miles from LGA to Yankee Stadium.

I did this yesterday - went up to see my beloved Astros play the Yanks on Thursday. We landed in EWR at 11:10am, took the Olympia Bus to Grand Central Station (RT ticket $19), caught the #4 subway to 161st/Yankee Stadium ($2 each way), and were in the ticket line at 12:50pm. All this on a Thursday for a 1pm start.

Hope it helps.

Go Astros!

thanks for all your replies. It seems like the easiest is taxi from LGA so I'll probably go that route. Again thanks.

Seeing as how this is a TravelBuzz topic rather than a thread for get-togethers, I'll move it to the former.
