Flyertalk in Edinburgh (EDI), May 2003
Lads and lassies,
Scotland's capital city will play host a gathering of Flyertalkers on the first weekend of May 2003. All are welcome to come and enjoy good company in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
There will be lots of opportunities for sightseeing around the Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle and shopping in Princes Street or George Street as well as the chance to enjoy a place which has more pubs and restaurants per capita than any other part in the UK. The plan is to have dinner on the evening of Friday 2nd May, dinner and drinks on Saturday 3rd May a for those who still have a functioning liver, lunch and dinner on Sunday 4th May.
With average temperatures in May of around 13C (55F) there's a chance it won't be freezing cold. Oh, and men in kilts.
ajamieson and I will be on the lookout for good hotel deals and we'll be announcing dinner venues shortly. These are likely to be cheap and cheerful places!
In the meantime, here is a taste of what Edinburgh and Scotland have to offer:

Looking forward to seeing you all here in May.

OK, I've spent some time working on airfares - and appear to be approaching something sensible. Mark me down. I've made a reservation at the Caledonian Hilton. Is that an ok location?

Oh boy! This sounds like fun. Edinburgh is one of my most favorite cities, even though it might be freezing cold as it was the last time I was there in May. (What better excuse to snap up some fabulous cashmere .... mmmm)
Hey, we must'nt forget a stop at Royal Mile Whiskies for a wee dram or two, not to mention some one-of-a-kind bottlings for the kids back home.
...to say nothing of the men-in-kilts part ... <very wicked grin>
