I'm about ready to pull the trigger on a C award to LHR (nothing available to EDI). Looks like my options are ~$130 USD on a UA codeshare LHR-EDI. Is Go an option to EDI? Any other discounters from LHR to check into?
I understand the Caledonian Hilton is a treasure, SD1K. May I ask, were you able to book it as an award stay? I've decided to liquidate my MP account by half and may as well move the max number of miles to HHonors as possible and get some nice stays out of the bargain.

Don't forget that you can get a free ticket on BMI using your UA miles. I believe that the award "costs" 20K miles.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend (as much as I would love to). I hope my excuse is acceptable: I'll be jetting down to sunny Thailand on May 3rd...

SanDiego1K - as a Diamond you should be able to get the Diamond Desk to free up inventory. There are no blckout periods as Diamond.

As I stated above, I've checked, checked and double-checked all the award options to EDI: full C or split C/Y awards; via LHR, MAN .... even DUB!!! The best I've been able to do so far is C from PDX to LHR.
