Be nice to catch up again with Gaucho AND kempis.

I think Stockholm sounds great too. Seeing it was kempis IIFC that originally tipped us all off that Scandic/Hilton rooms there cost a measly 10K a night or 15K for 3 nights I'd vote for STOCKHOLM!

That is an absolute pittance 'cost' in a high cost country like Sweden. (That deal ends soon folks, so lets move on this!)

kempis has helped countless FT'ers over his 4000+ posts by being able to supply ACCURATE rates/rules/routings on all kinds of queries within minutes of being posted. Possibly from his desk at the Scandinavian Airline he work for who may-or-may-not-be-a-member-of-the-Star-Alliance.

I remember kempis working frantically one evening trying to clear an upgrade on a carrier we had no miles on but he did, and offered them to us. 7,000 miles away we stood at the boarding gate while he contacted the airline. End result - we both sat for 12 hours in comfort upstairs on a non Star Alliance 747-400.

True FlyerTalk spirit at work. The beers are on us in Stockholm.

well, you better check (and increase) the credit card limits before going there - beer (any alcohol) costs more in Scandinavia than anywhere else in Europe ...

Ouch - don't remind me Rudi!

Try $US20 a glass for local beer in a local pub in NORWAY last year. THAT makes Sweden look bargain basement! Denmark was like third world prices to us in comparison.
