Everything there looked great. Heck, I went there for lunch, just had what was essentially a seafood stew, and it was great stuff. I highly recommend that anyone going plan on eating at both places. If you just go to the hotel room and order room service, you are so missing out. And if you just go to the hotel bar, you are totally missing out! I might have to drag you out and have someone discipline you http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

No! No! No! I've sworn off FT do's completely. Certainly FT do's in boring cities like MSY. Count me out. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Coincidentally, I have to be in New orleans that weekend on business. I can try to get down in time for dinner on saturday and definitely will be there for Sunday brunch, if anyone's awake! My meeting starts Sunday at noon.

Have to be? I'm sure you were forced to book that ticket screaming and kicking, right Bruce? I am sure folks will be up for the Sunday brunch. Hungover, maybe, but awake, probably.

I guess I'm a little late...we will be in town for Mardi Gras, 3-1 to 3-5. I'm sure finding fun things to do will not be a problem...I'm already stockpiling the aspirin!!

Just bringing this back up to the top.

Just got a hotel thru Hotwire (Priceline kept rejecting me).
Wyndham Riverfront 3* $54/nite.

Look for the high speed internet access icon.

I did a little checking on hotels in the area, better deals may come up but here are some Hilton and Marriott deals that I found.

These hotels are near the convention center but it is not a terrible walk and definitly a short cab ride. Dinner is not walking distance from any of the hotels including the W so a cab is definitly in Saturday night's plans. If you plan on renting a car parking is MUCH cheaper at these hotels in comparison to the W. For anyone planning on the Hyatt I will warn you that the Hyatt is pretty far from the Quarter and is pretty run down. Their regular rates are high and I would only stay here if you can get this hotel on Priceline for under $40.

Hmmm, it was such a successful Do last year, I really should consider a return visit http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

I think the battery in my Hand Grenade necklace still works - love those beady little flashing red eyes!

Not sure where I'll be in January but please mark me down as a definite maybe http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif Hopefully I'll make it and I'll certainly reduce my bourbon consumption - ouch!

Thanks to techgirl's encouragement this weekend in SIN, put me and Mrs. down as definitely interested. Delmonico is one of our favorites!

Please add me as a definite maybe http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

prncess674 Nov 5, 2002 7:36 pm

wow, great responses. Alot of you guys have expressed interest in the weekend. I am also going to need a head count of those who are interested in Dinner on Saturday night. The Crystal Room only holds 16 people so I think we are going to have to do this on first come first serve basis. My tentative list of people who have expressed in an interest in Saturday dinner are as follows.

1. prncess674
2. ChefMike
3. prncess674's Dad
4. techgirl
5. mashav
6. ljp99
7. IAH_Flyer
8. Mrs. IAH_Flyer

This is only the Saturday dinner list. Dinner Saturday will be prepay due to the fact that there is minimum requirement for the room. If we have a much larger crowd we can start a waitlist. If you would like to be added to the Saturday dinner list please let me know!

Princess -

Hyatt is sold out that weekend according to their own website.

And not that this is a plug for them , but Hotwire just sent me a $25 off $50 Ebags coupon for booking a room through them.
