Okay, I guess I belong here for now
This seems like a sort of strange sort of club to join, as people have noted in various ways; the act of posting in and of itself brings you closer to being ineligible to post.
But I expect I'll be here for a while, as I just joined. I found out about it through the (sticky) list of all forums, which has been very useful in helping me find my way around as a new member.
In the meantime I hope to be able to make useful posts in many of the forums. I've done a lot of travel PLANNING even if not so much air travel in the last few years.... And yet I think I joined TWA's frequently flyer club in 1981. Not sure when I ended up joining AA's, but I believe it was later.
I used to research flight information on Prodigy (or was it Compuserve?) back when they had a bare bones direct link to the SABRE system.
I still need to try to figure out the layout of the various forums and where each sort of posting truly belongs.

After a feverish evening of shameless post padding in any forum that would have me, I've reached my pentultimate post as a qualified member of this club, so here is my 99th post,
"So long, thank for the bruises, you can keep the stool sample" - Chevy Chase, in "Spies Like Us"

reaching 100
Well, it took me a while of lurking and then lurking some more before I felt comfortable in posting. I think I may have been intimidated by the level of flyers here. I can't even imagine being on the road as much as some of you. I also felt so strange having 7 posts when someone else on the thread has 7,000,000 posts (all right, 6,999,999). As I approach 100 and have gone to other areas I'm getting more confidence in my posts but still cannot see the day when Cruisr is listed with 5,992 posts (or something like that) Heck, we all need goals in life, this can be one of mine.....

It is true that as I lurked I got to know the people as if watching a sitcom and have gained some experiences by implementing things I might have learned from the forums. Now I actually have some stories to tell and some miles to speak of. My post count will grow in it's own time. Still alot to learn, though.

Where does one post basic questions about how to use the forum? I've poked around a bit but I cannot figure out a few things that would help me from a technical point of view.
Such as: How can I quickly and easily tell which posts I've already read and which ones I haven't? What I'm doing is whenever a subscribed thread turns up near the top of my list, I have to click on the last page of it, and then if that's very short I have to go back a page, and finally find my last posting and read on from there -- except often I had already read most of the rest of the postings and I'm still sort of lost.
What I'd really like is to have the page pop up with ONE post that I'd already read (for context) and then the rest of the (unread) postings. Is anything like that possible?

OK, what better place to post this historic milepost but in the 100 post thread.
Even though my post count in my profile will change let it be recorded for posterity that when Cruisr reached 100 she posted it here.
Happy Travels and postings to all...
Cheers

My own story is that I have hung around FT for more than 2 years. (I joined the forum itself exactly two years ago). For most of that time, I was just learning. It has only been in the past few months that I have felt like I could make a contribution to the forum, so my post count has dramatically risen since then.

Thanks, it was useful indeed. I think I've gotten my flight legs now.
Also, as this is my 100th post, I will bid adieu and move on. I'm sure I'll see you all around in the more content-based threads.
