SFO - Saturday Oct 19 or Friday Oct 25

Joh and I fly in a few days to SFO, then we'll rent a car and drive to Yosemite for a while, and afterwards fly on our $55+ tax Biz class MX error fares to PVR Mexico for a short visit.

We fly back into SFO late evening Friday Oct 18. We have the day free Sat Oct 19, and fly to MIA-Buenos Aires-Uruguay at 1.25pm on the Sunday. If any of the SFO FT'ers are about Saturday Oct 19 and have time to catch up for lunch or dinner or whatever, be fun to do that.

Have not booked anything yet re Hotels, but will real soon. As we arrive on the PVR "milk run" at 11pm then need to do customs, think I'll just Priceline an airport Hotel for 18th, and probably score Hyatt it seems is usual there.

We are back in town via on the long flight from Uruguay Friday Oct 25 at 9.25am (MVD-EZE-MIA-SFO) and have the full day free in SFO before our late evening SFO-SYD flight at 11.05pm.

Sounds REAL good to me.

Right now a FT friend has VERY kindly offered to collect us from Hotel on morning Sat 19, and drive us up to Tahoe to see the countryside and surrounds. Joh has never been there before so that sounds great. Sounds like it is a full day tho?

So right now all day Friday October 25 looks free for lunch or dim sum or whatever anyone might suggest. Just as long as we pour ourselves on that 747 before 11.05pm departure. Our bags will have been checked right thru from Buenos Aires to MIA-SFO-Sydney.

So how does October 25 sound?

Yank Sing is downtown. There is a big and decent (and well known) restaurant in Millbrae that I believe has a big dimsum. (Millbrae near SFO).

I will be back in town on October 22 and probably available on Friday October 25. (I should know by October 23.)

If so, would love to get together for dim sum or other possibilities!!!

Glen, lunch would be impossible. Dinner unlikely. But how about a get together (high tea? coffee and dessert?) around 3 or 4 if you're around? I'll be driving right past SFO on my way home from work.

Please drop me an e-mail.

By the way, dim sum is a lunch only event. But you can get a world class dinner at Fook Yuen, which is about a mile from the airport. Ask techgrrl - she and I shared Peking Duck there a couple of weeks ago. Great dim sum at lunchtime at Fook Yuen as well.

dgolds .. sounds perfect.

4pm will fit in well if that still suits. We have booked a room at Sheraton SFO airport to catch a few hours nap after a day of touring in Argentina then onto planes to SFO. Anywhere pretty casual will suit us fine.

Kathy - be nice to meet up with you again too. How does 4pm fit in with you or the other folks above for Friday 25th if you/they are about then? In Mexico City now, will check here in a day or two.

Unfortunately 4pm will be the whistle for kickoff.
Hey Glenn I have a question
Usually visitors bribe us to come see them - you know chocolates from Zurich or other such goodies. How come you and Joh haven't offered any bribes?

I can report one FT member has a bottle of tequila in his possession today We're just back from a day trip up to Tahoe, and Ozstamps and Joh are safe at their hotel in Pleasanton.
