I think Nathan just spoke to us again.
Nathan Detroit writes in the earliest days of FlyerTalk, on October 26, 1999:
Cheers Nathan. Go for top tier. And place a bet for me, won't you?

I'd like to pass on my condolences as well. I only knew of the man and would've liked to have met him, considering we were in the same neck of the woods both being in Chicago.

It is unfortunate that I did not get to Chicago for the FT do when I could have visited Nathan.
He was a quiet unassuming soul (at least during our encounters).
I hope his suffering was brief.
Every death is a reminder to live each day well and to enjoy life!

I too wish to extend my condolences to Nathan's family.
We only got ot meet once a cloudy but wonderful day in Seattle two years ago. He has a great story to tell.
I believe he has won his wings, and with our beloved Raeban and John A will watch over us for many years to come.
You will be missed Nathan Detroit, but not forgotten.

To say I've been out of touch for the past few months is an understatement...I just found out the sad news from essxjay.
The times spent with this fine gentleman in SEA & YVR, along with the many e-mails over the past few years will always remain a warm memory.
Rest in peace nathan detroit.

Sleep in peace, and know that you will be remembered long and well by your family and your friends.
You leave behind for us warm and loving memories of you.
I just went through and read as many of Nate's old posts as I could find. His dignity and incisive wit will be long remembered.
