Anyone have details as to where/what bus to catch???
thanx Originally posted by Spiff: This is my plan for the weekend. |
Ahh yes, the bus to Sea-tac. http://transit.metrokc.gov
The 194 to Seattle takes you from Sea-tac to downtown with only a couple of stops. It stops in the bus tunnel in downtown. The bus stop at the airport is on the baggage claim level on the south end of the terminal. It runs about twice an hour. The 174 also goes to downtown but stops FREQUENTLY between the airport and downtown. I've taken these routes before so if you need anymore info that you can't find on the website, email me. And fares aren't simply $1.25; they are confusing (and I don't pay attention to fares because I have a pass). For example, a peak hour trip (3-6pm) from the airport to downtown is $2. Read the fare info online. [This message has been edited by whlinder (edited 05-10-2002).] |

Howie,
I'd really recommend Downtown over the airport. With the priceline rooms being so cheap right now..its really worth the few extra $$ than to have to worry about transpo from the airport area every day. |
If you really need a ride from the airport, I'd be happy to make one trip out on the 16th and drop people from the airport to downtown (taking the HOV lane!). You all can coordinate it amongst yourselves. I can fit 3 others in my car.

How about a beautiful afternoon/evening sail on the bay with the city skyline in the background and the sunset behind the Olympic Mts. while enjoying a nice glass of wine or two?
Originally posted by baraboodish: Sounds great! Where do I sign up? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif I do have a berth reserved for Saturday night at the Bell Harbor Marina, http://www.portseattle.org/harbor/re...l.htm#location ,so we'll be able to do some sailing on Saturday and Sunday afternoons from there. The Bell Harbor Marina is easily accessible from downtown by trolley on the waterfront or walking. If you want to go out, it would be nice if you have non-marking boat shoes. If not, socks or barefeet are ok. Hopefully, the weather will be gorgeous and hot. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif Here's a pix of the boat (well, at least the same model). http://www.sailboatowners.com/boats/...28&fno=0&bts=T (edited to include original quote) [This message has been edited by Hunki (edited 05-08-2002).] |
Now that's a NEAT boat Hunki. Joh and I would be delighted to have a sail if space permits on either Saturday or Sunday afternoon. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Oz, have Joh check her email. I'll start working out the schedule as more folks check-in.
The boat, for it's size, feels alot larger than it is. The only problem is that the cockpit isn't really very large, especially if the boat is heeling in strong winds. However, Punki has finally convinced me after 30 years that just because there may be another sailboat on the water, I don't have to be in a race with it. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif So now I just ease the sheets and take it easy. Punki just doesn't go sailing with me anymore when I want to "wash the rails". http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif [This message has been edited by Hunki (edited 05-09-2002).] |
Hunki: great boat - what's her name? I'll come and wash the rail with you. We may need to tie Ozstamps to the mast however with a squeeze bottle so that:
a) he doesn't fall overboard or gets in the way and b) he doesn't spill his champagne. How's that for 'a sense of humour'? Looking forward to seeing you and Punki... |
I'd love to come on the boat (2 of us). Thanks. This should be great!

Here on the Chesapeake Bay we call it "burying the rails"... Unfortunately, my parents realized a few yaers ago that I was getting more use out of their boat than they were. They of course offered to sell it to me at which point I suggested a lovely room for them at a local retirement home.... end of story. There is no more boat (Irwin 34 Citation) and my parents are doing quite well without the supplementary oxygen. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif As for the SeaDoo 4, chexmixy has reminded me of lovely airfares. However, I must still remain un-confirmed at this point. |

I would frequently "bury the rails", the deck and the cockpit combing boards on that boat. Of course, now that I don't race any longer, I prefer the "more comfortable" aspects of sailing when I have guests on board. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif However, if the crew wants "to slug it out", I'm usually more than willing. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif Joh we can either tie Oz to the mast or the bow pulpit where he can say his prayers. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif ldsant, which day do you want? Friday evening during the game, Saturday afternoon, Sunday afternoon? |
