This could be a lot of fun! Hmm, we could always organize the recipes by airport code; this recipe could go under CDG:
Poulet en crčme:
50 mL (1/4 cup) butter
1 roasting chicken (about 2 kg/5 lbs) in 8 pieces
1 medium yellow onion, minced
500 mL (2 cups) heavy cream
3 egg yolks
salt and pepper
Melt butter in a pot large enough to hold all the chicken in one layer (I've been using my small stockpot); add chicken and onion. Cook uncovered at medium-low heat for 30-45 minutes, turning chicken occasionally, until chicken is almost done. Pour cream over chicken and cook another 10 minutes. Remove chicken to serving dish. Whisk in egg yolks and cook until thickened. Add salt and pepper to taste and pour sauce over chicken.
If you're *really* nice to me I'll post my char siu recipe

Goodness a topic near and dear to my heart. Kindly count me in for a starter, main and pudding.
should it be knock offs of some of my favorite airline meals?
twa/aa's signature 4 bean salad?
chicken and pasta?
cheesecake/apple crumb cake?
nevermind, i vote for a section of foods that can be eaten in coach that will make other's envious.

Here's my recipe!!!
geo1004's pre-cook libation
- take one 16 oz pint glass
- add five med. ice cubes
- add one slice of lime
- add 5 oz. gin (Gordon's, Bombay, Beefeater, you decide)
- add 5 oz. tonic water
- stir (with swizzlestick leftover from last FC flight)
Then and only then, may you begin to cook!!!

Sounds like a kinda' "summery" drink, no?

Does this also do nicely in winter?

Sometimes I drink wine when I cook, and usually when I eat and especially LOTS of wine when I fly!

Somehow in airline clubs, I've sorta' switched to beer, often Sam Adams or Bass Ale, this last year or two, however!
Must be the influence of FT !

If possible, please include a sidebar for tom yam phet sa-lope (in Thai: phet = spicy/hot; sa-lope = faint or pass out).

What a wonderful idea.
My passions for travelling is food. I collect many cookbooks and a stop at a local super market is a must fo me. This time on my trip to India, I even got to join in a cooking class for the ex-pats wives and make my own chapatie.
Stay tuned for my dessert recipes from Kobe - the bread and pastrie capital of Japan.

Give it a try, doc and let us know. It's Friday, head to Dean & Delucca, grab your favorite dinner items, head home and start cooking!
Truth be known, I too tend to have wine while I cook more often than not.

Although very interested, I am not looking forward to metric conversions or ingrediants I can't get here in the the States. That being said, I'll try to make notes next time I make one of my treid and true favorites.

Wait...scratch that...I was thinking aloud, oh, so unfortunately...on second thought, the 3-dimensional cylindrical projection from the navel area is just plane/plain wrong...
Bad idea...bad, bad idea...

) uniqueness... & additionally, along those lines, w/ geography-specific whatnot brought in by such, albeit indirectly, we could perhaps insert interesting blurbs re: the airport(s) in question...although miscellany would be fair game & fun, food-related miscellany, in particular, would perhaps be called for...Frequent Flyer Food & Fun--Fixins for Feasting, Festive Frolic, & Faux Fasting (Fruit & Fronds Found in First [Faked Feast Fit For Fast Flight, Fixed For Fortnight])...
(SuperSlug, I couldn't help it
