Need help at British Museum, please.

Next week I am flying to London to meet my dad.
He's 70 and always wanted to spend some time at the British Museum. So I arranged a trip for his Christmas present.

Does anyone have connections at the Brit? I've sent emails 2 different times and no response.

What I am trying to do is arrange for him to visit with someone in the Near Eastern Studies dept.

Dad has his PhD in that area and all I could do is point and read the little cards at the exhibit.

Any ideas on who to call or how to contact would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Frank

You could just pick up the phone and call them. International rates aren't all that expensive and it will probably save a lot of 'mucking about' as the Brits would say.

Alternatively, you might try a private tour with a company like London Walks. Personally, I don't think the guides from a tour company would provide the level of expertise your dad would appreciate.

Frank,
I just emailed my NE expert. Hopefully, he can give you some help.

I would also just call the BM and see if anyone direct you to the correct bureau.

Maybe you should buy a phone card prior to making all these calls though.

Repositioning this to OMNI since it's not strictly a Community event.
