Woo hoo Jill!

I can't wait to have her back among us posting.

If anyone has an up-to-date address (since word was she would be moving), please post it here... I've got a Christmas gift ready to send and want to make sure it gets to the right place.

I spoke to Mom for about 90 minutes yesterday and she had nary a single crossed wire in the whole conversation. She is definitely lobbying for going straight home, do not pass go, do not collect $200.00, and as soon as is possible. Her Dr. still thinks she needs an interim stop at an adult day care for at least another week or two, but as Efrem mentioned in his post, her recent progress has been pretty remarkable.

Techgirl, you can probably just send your package to her home address, but I'd give it a day or two to see what happens with her discharge. Hate to see it get left on her steps and wander off.

I'd be surprised if we don't see a post from her sometime soon. It's too bad we can't get her out for the FT lunch on Jan 5, but I think that even if she is discharged by then, that would probably be pushing things.

Happy Holidays to all.

Jill is a real trouper..I am so glad her recovery is a getting better by the minute. It is truly a New Year's blessing for her and her family and of course her kind friends at FT and AA. This is the way we are here.

She's been sprung!

Mom was discharged this afternoon (on sort of short notice). She may likely spend a couple weeks in a day center while spending the evenings with my brother Mike to give her a little more support while she recovers further, but for now, she is staying with Mike and his girlfriend Marie in Raleigh.

For the moment she's not available for continous comment as both Mike and Marie are cell phone only folks, so there is no land line where Mom's at.

I'll post more info as it becomes available.

as have I ..

and as someone who recently went through a similar process with my own mother may I say that one of the greatest gifts you can give to Jill is the support to stop smoking.
