RDURES in the hospital??

Hey all....

Someone just posted in the Atlanta Thread that Jill is in the Hospital with an Anuerism (sp)

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum95/HTML/001410.html

It's in a pretty obscure place so I thought I'd throw this out here.

Any news?? Anyone??

drtravels Nov 5, 2001 11:08 am

Jill is really great and we all wish her the best. Get well soon Jill.

I'm not sure where the best place to keep track of the news is but there's a thread at the AA board also.

Lokahi Nov 5, 2001 11:31 am

Sending aloha and prayers for Jill's quick and full recovery. She is a gem.

The other thread mentioned she's at WakeMed in Raleigh. Seems that WakeMed has a bunch of facilities in N.C. Might anyone know which one Jill's in...the New Bern Avenue hospital maybe?

dhammer53 Nov 5, 2001 11:38 am

(((((Jill))))

Get well soon.

I just spoke to Jill's son.

Jill is still in ICU and can not take calls and/or visitors. She is conscious and speaking a bit. Surgery is still scheduled for tomorrow.

I asked him to tell her that all of us were pulling for her the next time he speaks with her.

He has promised to call me if there's any change.

The address listed in the post above (WakeMed, 3001 New Bern Ave, Raleigh, NC 27610)is the correct address if you want to send her flowers.

My thoughts and prayers are will Jill and her family right now for a speedy recovery.

For those who wish to send flowers, few hospitals will allow flowers in the ICU because of contamination reason so I would send cards first and hold off on the flowers until she is moved to a ward bed.

If anyone can keep us posted on when she moves out from the ICU to a regular hospital bed it would be greatly appreciated.

Shareholder Nov 5, 2001 2:32 pm

Just adding my thoughts and hope surgery goes well tomorrow. Have received several "off line" messages over the past weeks from Jill about FT posts, so I know she really cares about this community, and we certainly do care about her.

PAUL PALMER Nov 5, 2001 3:16 pm

Stuart, Where is the Anurism? The Brain?

Poor Jill, I'm absolutely distraught. This year has not been very kind to her. she really did not need this. On can only speculate how much all the stress has contributed to this.

Roy and I are very upset. Please keep us updated.

Thanks

Paul

'Twas my post initially, just popped into the first thread I hit.

At this time, Jill Griffin is scheduled for
surgery at 7AM EST,06NOV01, at WakeMed 3000 New Bern AV. in Raleigh. Surgery is supposed to last aprox. 4 hours. Doctors maintain the anuerism is "small" and easily repaired.
Last report Jill was blasting the nurses because her head hurt and " why couldn't she have a cup of coffee". (Definitely good sign , she is cranky....)
Jill is only permitted to have immediate family visit, for 15 minutes at a time. No flowers, cards etc, as she will be in the Critical Care unit for at least a week
maybe more. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers

Sometimes when patients aren't allowed flowers, balloons are an option.
