This is the most dreaded part of any FT event for me. I mean I don't even know how to pronounce this ridiculous jumble of letters ... do I pronounce it as it would be without the typo? Or as the sickly white plant it means now? Or as Little E, which is what my son calls me? ... such a quandry ...

I think the event standard seems to be "what is easier to say/remember when you are drunk"

So I've heard ;-)

Not everyone is the prudishly boring tee-totaler that I am.

Hi eastwest,

The question brings to mind a Swahili proverb, which translated in English states, "It's not what you call me, it's what I answer to."

I personally don't mind being called by either my handle (go figure!) or my real name.

At the gathering we had in DFW, tags were made with both the person's name and their FT handle, for purposes of easy recognition. That worked really well.

Since I forgot to buy a vowel, noone can pronounce my handle - didn't realize at the time anyone would ever need to say it out loud! So Pam it is...

Pam,

When drinking champagne, I sometimes ask for one more bottle with "si'il vipliiitttt"!

How's that?
