Philly dinner Apr 21

Since I'll be leaving good old PHL after 8 years, I thought it might be nice to have a little get together. Rumor has it that everyone's favorite feline from NY may even claw his way down... So, anyone interested let me know, so that I can figure out a dinner spot and/or other activities for the day.

Burkey's come up to New York for so many FT dinners, I might even drive or take the train down to this one. I just hope there's time for me to stop for a starch-dairy-and-protein appetizer!

A starch, dairy, and protein meal (lunch) could be arranged....

FYI, I just checked HotWire for Upscale (4 key) hotels in Center City for Sat night, and got a price of $47... not bad, for any overnighters.

The hotel for the $47/night rate is the Wyndham Franklin Plaza Hotel on 17th & Race Streets. If anyone is interested, let me know, and I can refer you as a Hotwire user, and you can get an additional $10 off.

So far confirmed:
Catman
markbach
RichG
JayBrian

Maybe:
FlyBabe

I was thinking of Meiji-en for dinner, they do a pretty nice job, and I've had a hankering for them for a while. And a nice view of the Ben Franklin Bridge and it's light show is free of charge.

Of course, recommendations can always be made for the starch, dairy, and protein lunches/taste-testing trail.

I wish could join you folks, but I just can't make it. It would just be too much. Last weekend, we came back from CA, and it looks like I'm headed to PIT this weekend. We are also going thru PHL on the way to CDG on the 29th.

BTW, we have a long 6 hour layover in PHL on the 29th. If anyone is interested in getting together, perhaps we can smuggle some folks into the Envoy/FC departure lounge.
