NO Assigned seating at the dinner.

*Please bring coupons for the coupon exchange table I'll be setting up at the Catman Do Trois Dinner at Cite Restaurant Saturday night. The rule is bring a coupon, take a coupon.

*Bring cameras, especially you Mr. Limo!!! You are our best photographer!...

Please accept our heartfelt apologies!

Hope the traffic cooperates and that you are more successful than "Big Apple" tours!

BTW, I do actually have a Big Apple Tour T-shirt that my son got when they first started - if you would like to wear it this weekend!

I'm looking forward to it. I was on the guest list, then I was taken off, and now I'm 'somewhat' back on -- Catman's graciously let me come by to meet and greet during the before-dinner drinks.

I look forward to meeting all of the board's personalities!

In the spirit of the Long Beach weekend earlier, pitflyer used Priceline to get a hotel room, and I thought I'd post it here if anyone wants to try and duplicate it (In Long Beach, many of us stayed at the Renaissance Long Beach through Priceline for $35 after several other folks duplicated my winning bid at the property).

Anyway, his winning bid is described here, and it looks like a bid of $80 + $20 AMEX Bonus Money should be able to get you the same deal at the Renaissance Midtown.

Good luck to everyone. If you do get the deal please post here or on Sheryl's board. You'll owe me a handshake.

"We're sorry, but we couldn't find a hotel willing to accept your offer of $85 for a hotel room in the New York City area. Your credit card has not been charged."

You did well!

doc, did you use an AMEX card? If you didn't, you'd have to bid at least $100. In any case, it might be gone now. Try again later if so inclined!

Yes, I did! Offered 85. + (the Amex) 20. on a 4* Midtown West!

Of course, I'm a real PL rookie and I entered the 85., assuming the 20 would be added with the Amex charge! Is that correct?

Well I rebid, adding Midtown East:

Hotel Name: Marriott New York Marquis
1535 Broadway
New York, New York 10036
212-398-1900
Check-In Time: After 03:00 PM
Check-Out Time: 12:00 PM

Your Offer Price: $85.00
Number of Rooms: 1
Number of Nights: 1
Subtotal: $85.00
Taxes: $13.12
Processing Fee: $5.95
Total Lodging Charges: $104.07

Thanks!

Congratulations doc.. do Sheryl and the priceline board a favor and post your bid there (and also go look up the priceline rate at Marriott's website using the confirmation number).

If you bid through the special link Beckles provided the bonus money should be in there.

See you at the Do!

PS I believe this hotel is right near the Renaissance, is it not? So its also in Midtown West (as PL defines it). Which would seem to mean that in between your two bids inventory opened up at the Marquis. Amazing.

doc, I could be wrong, but it sounds like maybe you really didn't have the bonus money in ...

Did you click on the link in my first message to get it added in, it should have showed it to you in your confirmation screen something like this:

Your bid: $85
Bonus money: $20

Regardless, you still got a great deal in the end!!!

Going off-topic:

Beckles, I know my Priceline bid used bonus money but no monus money is shown on my confirmation screen either.

This stuff works!! I'm flabergasted!! I bid $85 for MidTown East for tomorrow nite and got rejected. I then added Mid-Town West and bid $86 and got the Mariott Marquis. A pretty good deal.
Thank you Sheryl, Pitflyer and everyone else. I really wasn't looking forward to the ride home tomorrow nite on the train after the DO.

Add me to the list!

I did the opposite of what Vulcan did. I bid Midtown West, got rejected. Added Midtown East and got the Marriot Marquis for $85.00

Thank you pitflyer and Beckles.

I was not looking forward to the drive to Hartford.

Just arrived at EWR, where I'm sitting in the new President's Club with austman. We're waiting for newself and Mr. Limo's connection to come in from Houston, then we're off to the city for dinner followed by drinks at Idlewild with the group.

It's a beautiful evening in Newark, and we're thrilled to be here and looking forward to having a lot of fun this weekend!
