Pencil me in as a "maybe" for right now. We pick shifts in November for all of 2001, and very likely I'll get Thurs-Fri-Sat off the entire year, unless I am bumped out of it. It's a very remote possibility that might happen, so can't commit until the process is done.
Glad you picked this weekend. The one before (15-16-17) I have to be on Long Island for NCAA swimming championships, again contingent on getting Thurs-Fri-Sat off.
Will be able to firmly commit by mid-November.
Tom

Well, my gutt told me to do it, so I did it.
Booked three night stay at the Essex House.
Friday night: Free Friday TBE (to be earned)
Saturday: Paid
Sunday: Cashing in pts for Free night.
Just a warning: At this point, the rates are astronomical. I hope they come down soon.
Doubt I will get a suite but who knows! Problem is I need special kind of bedding.
Oooohh I"m so excited!

I'll bring the catnip, Mark, and a six pack of Berghoff's beer if Essxjay will be there.
Berghoff's, by the way, beats any beer west of the Mississippi. Ask Rudi; he knows great beer when he tastes it.

Nathan Detroit: I have enjoyed Bergoff's on my first fun trip to chicago, just over a year ago. IN fact I went to the restaurant and had the Kelbasa and sauerkraut. It was wonderful.
I'll add you to the "trying hard list."
And let's start sending cat vibes essxjay can make it!
But it's five months to the do.
Thanks everyone for your interest.

Question: I might be coming to NYC earlier in the day (2-3pm). Anybody around for short tours?
Oops - On SATURDAY only. I'd be driving down Saturday afternoon, enjoying dinner and returning home that night. THEORETICALLY at this point.
Hope to confirm in January.

MEOW-WOW! This is shaping up to be some party! Maybe even as big as the PIP!
Can't wait for March 23-25!
Thanks for your support everyone! The cats meanwhile are trying hard to get Health Dept approval to come to dinner!

Catman,
Do you have any suggestions for hotels? I want to try and make reservations already before everyone else takes all the award free rooms or I can snag one during a sale

For those of you coming to NYC for the first time, or for those of you who may want the 50 cent tour, Please accept my private tour invitation.
I can fit 4 people maximum in my Camry.
Cost - 1 500 mile UA cert (just kidding).
As some of you may know, I'm from Brooklyn originally. So what I'd like to do is take a ride to Brooklyn and show you the sights you would never get to see. Allow a minimum of 2 hours, with an afternoon departure on Saturday. And don't eat lunch because we'll either start the tour at Nathan's in Coney Island or one of the many famous pizza places that are located in Brooklyn. Followed by desert at a Brooklyn bakery that just makes my mouth water thinking about it.
Did you know that Brooklyn is the 4th largest city in the USA? But since it's been a part of NYC for a little over 100 years, it loses that distinction.
I can't wait. The first 4 to respond will have a great time.

I just received a postcard today from Marriott offering fantastic rates at their downtown properties during the Catman Do Trois. Frankly, I consider the downtown properties a great bargain. But then again, I love riding the subway from downtown to midtown. IMO, the rooms in downtown are a much better value compared to their midtown counterparts. Of course, if minimizing your walking is everything then by all means skip downtown.
The short of it is ...
