A Special Announcement

The OMNI Award Committee of Rudi of Switzerland and Catman of Jerzee decided to catch up on things and felt it was time to make another OMNI award presention.

After enjoying fine steaks, wines and swiss chocolates we could not come to terms on ONE particular person to give the newest OMNI to.

So to quote Rudi, We decided in Unanimous fashion:

a joint OMNI to honour a thread full of humour and whit, in the old-FlyerTalk-tradition:

AND THE WINNERS ARE:
[*]jailer for starting this thread "Simple Pleasures, Heaven and a Lion Contest" http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum81/HTML/001236.html
[*]QuietLion being the 'base' of jailers thread with his constantly brilliant written 'trip-reports'
[*](PremEx doesn't qualify, as he already received an OMNI in 1999, but PremEx's contribution to that thread should qualify for the next 'Pulitzer'-prize)

Jailer and Lion, your OMNI award will come soon. Congratultions.

PremEx, I will award you in a nice wine or cigars of your choosing.

SO let's salute another fine (and instant classic and wonderful) FLyertalk Tread!

CONGRATULATIONS GENTLEMAN, GENTLE-FELINE and SHEEP-MAN!

As a rule I don't accept awards but how could I refuse the generosity and acknowledgment of Catman and Rudi? I'm pleased to be sharing the honor with Jailer, who is funnier than I am but too good looking to be taken seriously.

Thank you.

An excellent way to acknowledge such 5-star contributions!

BTW, as a rule, I accept awards on behalf of anyone. I am happy to accept prizes, too

As a rule I don't congratulate Omni award winners, but seeing as the recipients are so deserving and I was busting a gut reading the thread, CONGRATULATIONS. Well deserved!

As a rule, I never turn down an award or a surprise (as long as it doesn't put me in the hospital.)

So enjoy your OMNI Mr. Lion (YOu can add that to your bio) Jailer (who I guess is good looking but I am considered the SEXIEST man on Flyertalk.) And PremEx enjoy your kudos.

And as a rule, if I'm not dieting, I never refuse desert (especially strawberry shortcake or cheesecake or Ruth's Chris chocolate sin cake! )

Congrats to both Quietlion and Jailer! Excellent choices by "the committee."

I think it's really appropriate that Jailer receive the "OMNI" award, as I think even he will admit that he never paid that much attention to frequent flyer programs, and was just exposed to all us nutcases by tagging along with his cousin to the Party In Paradise. After that experience he was adopted (or indoctrinated) into the FlyerTalk family and just recently completed the LatinPass run with AusTxHiker, finally making him a certified "mileage junkie."

And a "thank you" to the committee from me for the "honorable mention." Now that I know that I can never receive another OMNI Award, I think I'll just go back to surfing those porn sites Kokonutz turned me on to.

And hey Catman...shouldn't the OMNI Award announcment have been made in the OMNI Forum instead of here in the "get-together" forum?

When we met up in LAS last fall, Craig told me his cousin would be joining him at the PIP. "He's not really interested in all this FlyerTalk stuff...he's just coming so we can go diving together."
