Oh....my....god! I did not know that I won until the Seattle FT Dinner on Saturday. I've always said that I have gleaned far more from this Board than I have contributed. So, to be recognized by my peers and awarded an Omni is quite an honor. Thanks to all who read and to those who posted back, thanks to Catman and Rudi for the nod, and to QuietLion for your inspiration. And last, but not least, cousin Craig6z who snared me into this cult.
I stand on the shoulders of giants. I can't wait until the award ceremony in Switzerland

A short recapitulation of the "OMNI"-award-history:
The award (first called the Emmett_Nancy_Roberto award) was born at an inaugurational meeting (Catman and Rudi) at a New York steakhouse on Oct-19th-98. The ad-hoc committee wanted to honor Flyertalk-contributions that either are unique, extraordinary, or just helping us to earn miles, to entertain the "mileage-addicts" or "just let ones tongue run away with one".
The committee did decide to (try to) follow these "guide-lines" in their award-decision-making-process:
The awards should: [*]not make anybody jealeous (CatMan and Rudi don't want to have ennemies here) [*]not embarass the winner [*]not have any real money-value[*]not make any bribes possible (I will not give you my bank account, nor will CatMan) [*]honor contributions that either are unique, extraordinary, or just helping us to earn miles, to entertain the mileage-addicts" or "just let ones tongue run away with one" being/creating no problem(s) for our hosts of FlyerTalk be fun, beiing typically in the pioneer sense of the Internet free and without needing strict rules and eventually land/end in the hands of lawyers
The first award went (after nancy, roberto and emmett didn't claim their reward in time) to our hosts of the FlyerTalk-board in Colorado-Springs.
Here is a list of the award-winners so far (excluding the many Flyertalk individuals ("oldies") who were thanked for their individual contributions and received a special OMNI-holiday-present from the committee in dec-98):

I am proud to report that I am the mule for two OMNI prizes for two of FT's finest: QuietLion and Jailer. I think a SoCal OMNI party is in order!
