My boss is flying over for the Olympics and just got a downtown hotel at half in american currency what he was quoted about 3 months ago. Prices have dropped considerably it seems.

Evening of 14th Sept sounds fine with me Bambam - how about 0524 and Tinkybelle?
We can catch up around the Cross or somewhere perhaps? I fly out to States/Mexico September 17th, so 14th is good.
Had supper with Terenz from Canada on Tuesday after the Opera. Having dinner with Randy Petersen in a few days which also should be fun.
Cabs just got appoval to hike all fares for all metro trips in September up 10%! "Olympic Surcharge".

Alas, ozstamps, duty calls. I have a few dozen clients arriving Sept. 13 eager to be properly entertained, e.g., a couple of wine tastings followed by dinner at Michael's in The Hunter on Sept. 14 and Opening Ceremony on the 15th. Do you have a point of view about Michael's?

The trials of Network media! Never been to Michaels' .. others might have and can comment. If it is in the Hunter Valley wine region, just try and make sure someone ELSE is driving the rental car back - quite a drive after Chardonnay sampling! Especially for you guys driving on "wrong" side of road!
Flew into Sydney late last night.
Airport now looking pretty darn good. One nutty thing is the bought daylight saving forward to suit the Olympics. The other states have declined to match this.
There was a flight leaving for Perth at 8.15pm and ARRIVING at Perth at 8pm!! Distance is as far as a USA Transcom .. be like leaving New York and arriving in LAX "Before" you departed!

I've been to Michaels at Peppertree once and the meal ranks as one of the best I've ever had - and I do like to eat/drink well. The dining room is superb and looks out over the vineyard. I think its an excellent place to experience a bit of Oz cuisine (with a French bent).

Glen,
Sorry I didn`t get back sooner. We just arrived this morning and are heading out of the hotel for a walk around. Drinks sound wonderful for tonight. If you get this in time, you can leave a message for us at the Crest Hotel and we will get there.

Bambam,
How was the flight? It's 50 degrees, winds 20mph, and raining here - what else is new. Hope you enjoyed your cocktails. Have fun and don't forget my shirt.
