Go check a Pilot Bulletin Board. Interesting site! Super techno in some of those forums.

Each thread (it is same kinda UBB board as this) has an icon at left showing "mood of the topic". I smiled to try and figger what some of the icons would need to say here! Take a peek:

They even have a smilie with a hula dress on!

Many forums and threads here have pieces .....ing about Pilot/FA/Maintenence/Refuellers go slows and work to rule, delays etc.

The BB refered to above is a Pilot and Ground/Air staff focused board, and often give us the perception of how they see US!!!

For instance one thread here at top of the current board is called:

"The Passenger Is always Right Unless He Is A Tosser"

Some (18?) months ago, all those 'techno'-possibilities were offered on this ('OUR') board too (remember the dancing cats linked to catmans handel?). But the server was down again and again.

Rudi .. did you get one with a dancing alpen Hat and feather?!

Rudi Jul 31, 2000 6:56 am

... still NO feather (have a close look at the photo please), FLOWERS (feathers would be bavarian and tyrolian=Austria) style. And such a mix-up on the evening before our nations birthday (Confoederatio Helvetica, founded in the first days of august in 1291, fighting the Habsburg-people then, festivities and national holiday on august-1).

We ozzies fully understand these 700 year old historical things .. 225 years ago there was not one brick or hat or building in the entire continent! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Rudi, I always understood that's what you were doing when responding to a post with a smilie. I think it's a good way to respond without having to think of something witty to say--although, that's not hard for you to do.

Flyertalker after an evening with other Flyertalkers at a bar:

Umm, IIRC Australia has been inhabited since quite a long time ... before the English started to come down under...
