TalkMail Returns
Glad to report that I've rejoined Webflyer to edit TalkMail, the bi-weekly newsletter of FlyerTalk . I want to have the first (new) issue to Randy et.al. by Aug 12th, everyone, so please submit to me anything you'd like to see included. For the uninitiated, here's an idea of what TalkMail will include:
-a section with synopses of the two weeks' top threads
-notable quotes
-a community section, detailing upcoming "board meetings" and reports from recent gatherings
-a bio of a prominent FlyeTalker (pulled from the Who We All Are' Threads)
-a section of commentary on the "FlyerTalk experience"
-the "best" travel tip or advice on FT from the previous two weeks
-editorial commentary (when it feels right)
Talkmail's reason for being is that many members of the FT community are away from the 'Net for extended periods of time. With TalkMail, they can stay better briefed on what they missed.
I'd really like to get input from those who helped before like TravelWeary, JayFly, Bokich and james, as well as anyone else whose interested. I expect the newsletter to evolve with the desires of the community and I welcome suggestions. And once I'm comfortable again, I have some ideas for making it funny!

Bryan, didn't you promise me to see after Dennis Ralston at the Broadmoor? (if he is still there?)
looking forward to meet you for a tennis-game, sooner or later.
welcome back
Hey folks: this Bryan is one of our former OMNI-price-winners!

Welcome Back Bryan!
We missed you.
Please be sure to include the Freddie Junior's world tour updates in Talkmail. Sort of a "where in the world is junior?"

As for Talk Mail:
I would like to see more threads covered in the 'best of the last two weeks section'. I thought 4/5 was quite poor coverage. Perhaps a little more description of the premise of each would help.
Similarly, there must be room to post more than just the one best travel tip of the fortnight.
I also like the idea of editorial commentary - provided it is crystal clear that is what it is. Some issues deserve that sort of analysis - for (a current) example, Delta's restructuring of their elite award program.
I will give it some more thought

Thanks to all for the kind words, and thanks for the suggestions, james. I'll drop you a line if you don't mind in the coming week.
To everyone else: I'm listening. Everyone's input is welcomed.
Geo1004: I'll be at the E-center in Camden on Sep. 16.
Comicwoman: missed you too. You're my guest in Philly anytime after the Republicans leave town.
