Hot Koko
Punki
geo
richard
Stimpy
Joanek
naxos maybe for a drink (but we're settin' a place for her just in case )

Just made arrangements to pick Punki up downtown at 5.

Stimpy, your selfless sacrifice is not lost on me. You are a true giver. I hope you are not too disoriented from sitting on the "wrong" side of the international first class cabin .

Well I'm the first to post the results since I woke up at 3AM due to jet lag.

The dinner was quite fun and I'm happy to have finally met Punki, Naxos (plus her husband), Joan, Geo and Richard. We all knew KoKo from before so naturally we excluded him from our conversation. Just kidding.

This thing about landing in a random city and visiting like-minded friends has got me thinking about a Flyertalk Buddy list server. When any of us is in a given town, we can update the server (if we choose) so all our flyertalk buddies will know we are available for dinner or drinks. I'll post a note on this in Randy's forum.

A night to remember! I'm glad everyone came out and hope that you guys had as much fun as I did.

BTW, geo, my wife asked me what I had for dinner when I got home, and I had to admit that I had NO IDEA...can you enlighten me?

(There was a mix-up and somehow geo ended up ordering my dinner...I'm sure the pints of Bass had nothing to do with that!)

Great to see old friends and make new ones!

I really had a great time! It was great meeting Mr. & Mrs. Naxos, Joanek, Stimpy, and seeing the unredoubtable (whatever that means) Punki, Geo and Koko!!

Stimpy, hard to believe you just landed from France and made it to the dinner!

I am looking forward to the next FT get together!!

Good food and good new FT friends. A chance to meet some FT legends. Punki reigned over the table. Thanks, Matt for putting this dinner together. Joanek, Geo, Richard and Stimpy, it was a pleasure and fun to meet y'all. And thanks Stimpy for the cert. My fingers are crossed. Anything that will drag me to Reston, except for Dulles, is a powerful draw.

We missed you, Rudi.

Well I must first thank my two handsome and charming escorts to and from dinner at one of my favorite Seattle restaurants. Kokonutz was kind enough to pick me up downtown and drive me to dinner and geo1004 graciously returned me and my luggage to the Hilton at Crystal City for a few hours sleep before my early morning flight back to Seattle. For those of you who have never met Koko and George, you are in for a real treat.

I was especially delighted that joanek joined us. As I am sure you all have noticed, FT is primarily populated by men and I am always very proud of single women who have the courage to come along to the FT Get Togethers. Thank you Joan. I hope to see you again at many futue FlyerTalk parties.

Special thanks to Richard whom I had previously met in Alexandria for being persistent enough to try all all the McCormicks in the beltway area until he final happened upon the right one.

I have been insanely jealous of naxos and Michael ever since they were lucky enough to have her birthday party at Wengen, which I have never had the good fortune to visit. I am delighted to find that they are indeed, a lovely couple certainly more than deserving of the special honor of a Wengen Birthday Party.

Well, what can I say about Stimpy who has always been a fascinating character for me. It was a treat to finally meet him and hear, first-hand, his most expert and ingenious (and somewhat exhausting I must admit) travel advice. Thank you for flying back early from Paris to meet us.

I never cease to be amazed at the wonderful community we have created out of cyberspace.

koko, it was crow... how was it?

Actually, for anyone who cares, koko and I were sitting next to each other and apparently the kitchen informed our waiter that koko's dinner selection was not available that evening. Unfortunately for koko, the waiter came out and mistakenly said to me, "I'm sorry sir, your selection is unavailable..." Not being a finicky eater, or realizing the waiter's eroor, I ordered a scallop dish. Of course, had I known of this mix up, I would have ordered something significantly more delectable than scallops for my dear friend the waldnutz .

As for the rest of the evening, it was wonderful, as always, to see my dear friend Punki and to touch base with richard, a familiar face and local member of the DC FT crowd. It was great to meet the well-travelled stimpy and to finally place faces with the names of the local FT'ers. naxos, enjoy your trip to Thailand. I look forward to your trip report. joanek, I am sure I'll see you at one of the preferred music venues in the area before the summer is out. I look forward to it... cheers.

Let me add my belated "thank you" to the nova dinner gang. (I am freshly back from a wonderful little music festival in boulder co, where it is hotter than dc, but without the humidity!)
Twas truly fun and thanks for the warm welcome! I look forward to seeing you all again ---and can't wait to read the details of the Naxos trip!
