Great!! Ken, I'll put you on the confirmed list. If you could just drop me an email with your flt info once you get it arranged, just so I know when everyone is arriving.

As for dinner at Ruth's and Lorenzillo's, I think Monday and Tuesday night would work out best for either of those two places, the exact order, we'll deal with later.

Also, if there are enough interested, we can rent a Suburban to go to Tulum/Coba or Chichen Itza.. the Cat and I were planning on doing this, but would have only room for two in the Jeep. Besides, the Burb would be more comfortable, and have A/C.

And for those of you who have NOT confirmed, how can you resist at $78usd and $65usd per night?? And you know you want the miles, segments, and hotel stays anyway, so you might as well come on down and join us!!

With such a great site and distinguished crowd, how could anyone resist Cancun in the cool of the summer? Just this minute signed up at the Westin Regina on the hot deals, $78 Saturday and $65 for the rest of the week.

Traveling companion will be the irrepressible Emily Rubin, my 9 year-old daughter. Im interested to know if anyone else will have a similarly aged child. Emily and I are sneaking off while my wife Joanne is in France. So as long as our tans fade, Joanne will be none the wiser to our little jaunt.

If anyone, like me, is reduced to buying tickets (gasp!), Mexicana at mexicana.com is running Internet specials (i.e. $299 rt from LAX, w/o taxes). These run month by month, so look early June.

Im going to explore scuba diving charters, so please email your interest.

Cant wait, and thanks Burkey and Catman for playing Den mothers. Barry

Thanks for the information re Mexicana Jailer!

If the cheap rate can't convince you, how about 20,000 AA miles?

Fiesta Americana is offering 20k miles with your third stay at any FA or FI properties in Mexico. Since there are two in Cancun (FA Cancun and FA Condesa Cancun), both rated very highly, this should make it easy. The promotion is limited to a max of 9 stays = 60k miles. The duration of promotion is 12/15/99-12/15/00.

I appreciate the tip Kyklin. Please keep in mind, all, that my get out of jail free card is null and void in Mexico (and apparently in Israel and Germany, but, hey, lets not talk about my record). If ff miles can be used as bail, however, I foresee blanket immunity all around.

Jailer: I don't remember the details, but there is some deal afoot where the airlines carefully scrutinize minor children travelling to Mexico with only one parent. You might actually need a letter from your wife!

Someone on here will be bound to know more, or you might check with the airline or the State Department.

Rich, all kidding aside, I plane to bring a notarized letter from my wife and a copy of my daughters passport. Thanks.

Just moving this ahead so other people can see the details and get the Web Link to Cancun.

Trying to convince Christine (who's not a fan of hot weather) to come as well, since she wants to meet Flyertalkers.

Arturo was in NYC, I saw 'em....
just hope Arturo can make CUN

Update
I see someone else is now in First Class on the MIA-CUN and CUN-MIA flights, so hopefully it is one of you!!

Thanks to Jailer (Barry) for getting things started on a possible dive trip while in Cancun, and if anyone is interested, you can use this list to discuss it or contact Jailer.

Also, Catman (Mark) and I have been talking and we are thinking of going to Havana, Cuba for a day/night. Current pricing on Mexicana is $281 USD, and an overnight would be required. We're currently looking at hotel pricing. So if anyone would be up for this, please let me know.

It has also been confirmed that the Freddie will be present in Cancun, so if you haven't already got to see the lovely award up close and personal, here's your chance!

Update -- free 1,500 AA miles

Yes, 1,500 AA miles will be given to the next two people that confirm to attend Cancun by emailing me their flt schedules. You will be awarded the miles at one of the dinners in Cancun.

If you confirm with a guest, you will only be given a total of 1,500 miles.

1'500 AA miles ? Hmmm ...

Are you trying to make me not to move to FL ?

I'll do everything I can to go to the party in Cancun !
As I already told burkey I'll be moving out to FL with my girlfriend around that time and I think it'll be impossible to go to Mexico during this time or even INSTEAD

BTW, It was very nice to meet and see you burkey I hope you had a great time on your weekend "getaway" in CVG.
