OMNI: I need to write a retraction concerning steak preparation, and it deals with my dearest friend and supporter, HOlly.
Holly never said that having my steak medium to medium well ruins the steak.
What Holly really said was, quote: "I DID say that steak never did anything to you to =
deserve being prepared medium well to well."
So I apologize profusely HOlly. And I am ready to get flamed by the rest of you all.
Thank you for forgiving!

First, thanks for NOT flaming me.
No new updates on the DO but I'm just keeping this thread going for anyone with the small possibiility of making it!
PAWS crossed for several folks in particular. After all this is a Flyertalk Family reunion and my whole clan should be there!

Seeing that I'd like to try to fly on CO twice before the end of May to take advantage of my new Trial OnePass Silver status and get it extended ... I just bought a ticket on CO to fly to EWR, arriving the morning of the 18th and leaving the evening of the 19th.
I'll be staying at the Grand Hyatt New York. I know, I know, the Grand Hyatt New York sucks, but I've got a $50 VacationMiles certificate I need to use, $75 in Hyatt gift certificates and a Regency Club Upgrade coupon that expires at the end of April, so I don't think I'm going to do any better for under $100.

YAHOO BECKLES!!!
Glad you are coming up and I like the way that you are able to shave some $$$ on the travel costs.
So I'm moving your name up to the CONFIRMED as well putting my friend's name FrankB to the possible list.

Check your e-mails for the latest small update on events and guest list!
Also: check this link:
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum...ML/000604.html
If that doesn't get a few more Flyertalkers to attend then I'll just have to bring my Cats to do their "four paws up" dance!

All righty then. Catman has used his considerable persuasive skills on me (guilt, mostly), so I have thrown caution to the wind (the usual place my caution ends up), and am now officially RSVPeeeing to, as OMNI winner Arturo puts it, the "Catman-Doo-Doo!"
I'll take my cow Medium.
My United Transcon Business Class seats are confirmed arriving on Saturday the 18th, and my HHonors PointStretcher 2 night freebie stay at the Hilton New York and Towers are reserved as well.
I'll pass on the Sunday brunch waitlist, as I'll want to sleep in after the big dinner and will opt instead to partake in that great hangover cure-all of the Twenty-first century...Krispy Kremes! But I can CAT-ch up with you all later after your brunch?
My flight arrives at JFK at about 3:00pm on Saturday the 18th. Anybody else coming in at that time and want to share transport?
My return flight home departs on Monday the 20th at about 6:00pm, so if anyone is heading out at that time we could share transport to the airport at that time as well, if you would want to.
At this point Wingless sez she can't make it, but will probably do her usual mind change as I'm headed to the airport. And as it's been my experience that those last minute tickets can cost you the price of a small motor vehicle, I went ahead and booked her a Business Class Saver Award right next to me on the same flights, just in case.
Actually I hope to have her commit one way or the other before the official deadline.
Should be fun. Pinch me.

PiP-PiP hurray! [ok, so that's the wrong expression. What would you have me use for the Cat-man-do? The most obvious choice would be rather vulgar, right?!
]
Premex -- we leave on Monday also but around noon time. Maybe something Sunday nite for those of us hanging about?
Sure hope wingless makes it too...

My friend Theresa calls me on my cell phone (which I left on) waking me up and saying "it's important you read Flyertalk A.S.A.P!"
First impression: OH NO< not a few more cancellations!
Then I see this and right now the cats and I are are HOWLING and doing the conga around the apartment!
This is so great BIG BRUDDAR! And I hope I did not GUILT you into coming (actually I sent cat vibes saying "If he's really free this weekend!")
And it will be great if wingless makes it too. So I'll put her in your possible spot and move you up to the CONFIRMED!
Check you e-mail for some other info!
Thanks PremEx and see you at the Do (I won't say that word twice because it IS VULGAR Mr. onefreeman!)

Is it too late to get in on the fun?
I was supposed to work in BOG from 3/12 through 3/25 but the client unexpectedly cancelled the first week of work.
So I booked SFO-EWR for 3/18, followed by EWR-BOG on 3/20, then BOG-SFO 3/25. (No more expensive than SFO-BOG-SFO, BTW.)
Sure hope there's room for one more at the House of Catman ... er ... Ruth's Chris on the 18th.

PremEx, glad to see you'll be in NY as well. Interesting that you were able to get point strechers at the Hilton, as when I called to inquire a couple of weeks ago, I was informed there were none available...

Didn't take too long for you to give in either...
