SuperBowl in Vegas
without question, the wildest superbowl parties in the world happen in las vegas. i've enjoyed the superbowl experience in vegas for several years now, and would really like to make it a flyertalk party this year (jan00).
the dates are jan28-jan31 (or anywhere in between).
so far, i've got catman to sign on for that weekend. let's make this a PID (party in the desert) to remember!!

Thanks for posting MileCrazy but who is going to chaperone who? Maybe we need a third or fourth or fifth party to chaperone us?
I have not been to Vegas for a Superbowl weekend but I'm looking forward to the wild times! I'm not getting older, only better!

Sounds like a GREAT idea to me. I want to come (LV is my favourate place). I just have to talk CanadianHoneyBun into letting me come ALONE.
I would be flying from Toronto via Chicago (with AA), Houston (with CO) or the red-eye direct (with AC). Anyone got a "upgrade" for me??? Please!!

Super Bowl Sunday is probably the biggest betting day in Vegas.
Only one problem with Superbowl weekend in Vegas: room prices go thru the roof that weekend, comps and room upgrades may be difficult or unobtainable.
Likewise, betting limits are also jacked up everywhere, including the casinos that normally cater to the locals. Don't expect to see a table game for less than $5 minimum off the Strip, or for less than $25 on the Strip.
Not knocking a possible good time that could be had by all, but be warned.

I do not know about room upgrade (I never need them in LV). Getting a comp'd room that weekend is not a problem if you are "known" to the casino or casino host.
Yes, the table "limit" are higher at night. During the day, you can find lots of lower limit tables.

Las Vegas Hilton "SuperBowl Party" special.
I just talked to my "host" at the LV Hilton. The HOTEL has the following special with NO OBLIGATION to Gamble.
$198.00 for 2 people ($99.00 per person)
Hotel Room 2 nights (Check in 28th or 29th)
2 Tickets for the Superbowl party
1 Two-for-one coupon for Supper Buffet (Excellent buffet).
Singles are only $148.00
I like this hotel (even with it off the strip) and the room are very very nice.
This is a GREAT deal for superbowl weekend.

well, for the first time in awhile, it looks like you can get to & from vegas from all corners of the usa for less than $200. even new york city, with fares consistently around $300-400 to vegas has something called sun country air with a $196 roundtrip.
there's an airfare sale running until 12/15/99 that has fares reasonably low through march, so.... anybody else interested in the vegas bash? it really is a fun time to be in vegas, and will even be more sensational with fellow flyertalk board members present.

Sorry, I won't be able to join you guys. I just got my ticket today to go to Vegas from 12/20 - 12/23 with some of my family (my uncle is more of a gambler than I & is getting comps). You guys will have a great time, but Catman, you are NOT allowed to do yards of margaritas without me!

It's a good thing I'm home reading this because I'm laughing out loud!
Yes, I will put my PiP gift to good use & go to Vegas fully prepared this time!
It came with a guarantee of winning big bucks, right?

Bringing this forward because I'm getting interested in this deal. What is happening where? And where is everyone staying? I'm going to be in Phoenix thru Saturday afternoon 29 January, so by changing some arrangements around I could get to Vegas late Saturday night or Sunday morning and then go home from there on the redeye Sunday night, or even Monday, I guess.

Glad to hear you are interested.
Catman,MileCrazy and myself are the only ones "committed" so far. We are attenting the "casino" Superbowl party at the Hilton on Sunday. The rest of the weekend is open but a steak dinner is planned for Saturday night.
I am staying at the Hilton on Friday and Saturday night and then taking CO redeye to EWR Sunday night. I have a 2-room suite at the Hilton and the 2nd room is still available for Saturday night.
Hope you can make it, it should be a lot of fun.
