NYC Get together update!

Hello all! I've sent an e-mail to those who have expressed interest in taking part in the NYC Flyertalk weekend!

It lists a TENTATIVE schedule of events. It's really an open schedule including the two dinners on the 22nd and the 23rd.

If you have a serious interest in attending and did NOT receive the e-mail please e-mail me at my address on FlyerTalk and I will forward a copy.

Thank you for your time and patience!

CATMAN

I regret that Helen and I will not be able to attend the NYC meeting after all.

Helen is flying with her Mom to TLV for a family party. This leaves me with the boys (Eli-5 and Matt-3) for a week (including this weekend). I'm ambitious, but an evening in NYC with the kits is a stretch even for me.

So...our next public Flyertalk appearance will be the PIP.

Apologies to all. Have a blast.

Well I'm in Boston for an unscheduled stay from the 19th to the 26th. I figure why not pop down to the Big Apple for a FT gathering it's only a 3 hour drive. The e-mail is on the way Catman, I still owe you that first Sam Adams.

Cheers Scott

After combing the streets of NYC for a good restaurant that didn't want a HUGE Deposit for reservations, I found a nice place I go to for the big Saturday night NYC F-T dinner:

23 October: 7:45pm (I don't want to deal with the pre-theatre crowds!)
Reservations for twelve!
West Bank Cafe, 407 West 42nd Street

Confirmed:
*Punki (and guest?)
AnnaS
Burkey
SCL Gal and guest
Flyme2 and Guest
Scott the Flyer
Catman (of course!)

PUNKI: Are you bringing a guest? I was NOT sure.

That leaves at least 2 seats open!!! If anyone else is interested please let me know! I can probably have West Bank add a few more seats, I was assuming this many could come.

West Bank has seafood and pasta dishes (I almost always have the chicken Laganga!)

Zagat, the dining guide, calls West Bank: "Comfy" Theater District "actor hangout" with a "buzzing" ambiance and "moderately priced", "tasty" vs. "ordinary" American fare; after you've "blown your budget on tickets" for Lion King or Ragtime, "you'll be thankful it's near."

The CAT goes here once a month, all the Time Warner people come here. I like the food, and the QUIET (you can actually have a conversation here and not have to shout."

I hope this meets with everyone's approval. This is my P.H.P (Doctorate in Partying!)

Thanks for the update Burkey!

I'm sending an updated itinerary:

The Tennessee Mountain I have in mind is on:
143 Spring St in SoHo. This is more civilized than the wild place up near Times Square!

Need to add for 10-23:

6pm: as an opening to what I know will be a fabulous evening, may I suggest drinks at one of the few revolving bars in NYC. It's at the Marriott Marquis, 8th. Quiet Lion took me here and it's a nice place. You get a revolving view of the lights of Times Sq.

We can meet here, have a drink and head over to West Bank for 7:45pm!!

I'm looking forward to it, I'll just have to tell corporate I have a very important meeting and leave at noon Friday to make all the festivities. Whatever is planned works for me as I have no clue about New York. Other than it's the home of Yaz and Eddie and the big daddy Catman!!

Cheers Scott

Would like to make both Friday and Saturday night, but I'm not certain at this time. I'll almost surely make one, if not the other. If drinks are nice and early at 6:00pm Friday in midtown, I guess dinner won't be before 7:00 downtown?

I only wish I could go! But Hunnybear and I will be up in YYZ for a last weekend of love before my BIG TRIP to SFO, LAX, and NAS! You know our motto: All-Honeymoon-All-the-Time!

Catman, I will miss you and the other FlyerTalkers I haven't met yet in what sounds like a fabulous weekend! We will toast you from Toronto's famous North 44, where HB is taking me for the first time.

Hey Catman,

I am off to SFO tonight and then to Toronto tomorrow. I get back to Seattle Wednesday and will fly to NYC Thursday on a dreaded red eye!!! I hope to hook up with you and Samantha sometime Friday afternoon. Hopefully, I'll be on line throughout the week. Yes, I will have a guest.

I am so excited about meeting you all in NYC. At least for a bit Friday afternoon and definitely for dinner on Saturday.

Hi folks, unfortunately I am going to have to send my regrets on this one. Work is sending me to Pittsburgh at the end of the week. And the worst part about it is that I'm driving...

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN COMING TO THIS EVENT, PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU NAME AND FLYERTALK HANDLE IS SO I CAN HAVE AN IDEA WHO YOU ARE! I DON'T WANT COMPLETE STRANGERS SHOWING UP! I CAN'T PAY FOR DINNER FOR HALF OF NYC!

UPDATE: I HAVE SENT YOU AN UPDATED ITINERARY FOR THE FIRST NIGHT DINNER TIME (6PM) AND AN UNOFFICIAL GET TOGETHER.

Jet, I'm very sorry that you can't make it but remember you have an open invitiation to see me in NYC when you can get up this way.
