my recommendation: wait on deciding on a bigger event (like the PIP in HNL) until after nov-7.
but no hesitation to just go on with this as a 'not so big' event - yes.

I agree with Rudi. Just do it at the $ 99 rate in September. Whoever can come, will. I think that we need a mix of small, medium, and large events to attract as many people as possible. I went to Philly in August and had a great time, even though there were only 5 of us. If we get 10-20 in Key west, great! A PIP-2 could attract 50 later in the year. We need as many as possible so that they are local to many FTers so that they attend. Once they come to their first, their hooked! Lets do September.

I say September because in March there's going to be an NYC Get together II (or III) because AnnaS is coming to town to see "the Lion King" and I want to turn it into a fun mini F-T weekend.
So keep March open for NYC and I vote for September.
Can you give us a date or Two Tolarian Wind?
I"m dying to book it NOW!

Ok, the 99 weekend rate has turned into a 125 weekend rate. I had honestly thought that this was going to be easy.. a rate in the system for our group, however large or small.... not only has the rate changed but I would have to block rooms and sign a contract and guarantee the rooms...
I wish i could do that but I cant.
I will actively pursue other options....at a location other than the Hilton, as much as I would have liked to have it there.... The rate difference is not large, It is just the contract that I will not do.
I'm quite certain that I can find another location..... And I dont think anyone here is in a hurry.. with the PIP coming..
Stay Tuned!!

Maybe we can get Adam Burke involved. Set up a FT Convention rate of $99.00 in September. Show your FT luggage tag at check-in for ID.
Just an idea. Hope the event doesnt'get blown away to Cancun or Brownville, TX.

I wouldnt bother with Adam in this case.
I personally know the people who own that hotel, it's not worth the hassle.
There is no way the event is going to get blown away anywhere!
Im working on some other options!!
I will keep you all posted!!
