venkat: Welcome to FlyerTalk. Good to have another "BayArean" here with us.
I've been a resident of San Francisco for 17 years now, which almost qualifies me for native status. There are others, but I'll let them speak for themsleves.
And then there are all those honorary San Franciscans who have spent more time because of delays out of SFO than they would care to think about!
BTW you might want to seek out the threads called "Who we all are" and "Who we all are II" to see who we all are, and maybe even post something there yourself.
Welcome!

venkat --- I'm also from Milpitas, been here for going on 15 years. Good to see you on the boards, we'll have to get together sometime.
All Bayarea FTer's
I was thinking what with Rudy coming to town it might not be a bad time in early Sept for a Bayarea FT get together. Maybe Dinner, drinks something like that before the weather turns.
Cheers Scott

Silicon Valley South - soon to be Cisco country: newly in Morgan Hill, formerly lived in Saratoga 20 yrs. Born LA, lived as a child in a house now under LAX! Pick a place - Milpitas works for me...There is also a Cupertino guy.

my (so far only) stay in SFO aug-dec 1999 is
Sunday, sep-5-99 (arriving SFO 11:05AM with UA from SEA)
13:05 (with wine-friends from the Napa-valley) going to the baseball-game (Athletics-Boston)
staying at the SFO airport Marriott
leaving SFO on Monday, sep-6-99 at 08:50AM with UA1045 to SNA
a meeting/drinks/dinner on that Sunday, sep-5-99 (after the baseball-game), or an early morning coffee in one of the RedCarpets on Monday morning before taking off?

Well what do you think everyone ? Dinner and drinks after the ball game or coffee at the RCC prior to Rudy's departure. Consensus rules as long as it's cool with Rudy. Maybe dgolds or someone from SF can pick a nice restaurant ?

I would definitely be up for a SF (or Bay Area) gathering, and either of those times would work for me. I'm so glad this was suggested and would really look forward to meeting Rudi, who contributes so much to this community. I think we should let Rudi decide the best time and date since he is the one with the tight schedule. What's your preference, Rudi - the Sunday AM or the Saturday PM date?
If there's a need to pick out a restaurant, I can definitely provide suggestions if you like.
PS I let my RCC membership expire a couple of months ago; will there be enough with memberships so you can get those of us who are not members entrance?
