Sure! The more the merrier. It would be great to see you at the dinner. Paging @The_Wrath_of_Khan.

If anybody on the attendee list in post 3 is not coming to the dinner if would be helpful if they could post in the thread or contact The_Wrath_of_Khan directly so that we know how many to expect. Thanks.

Looks like I'm going to have to downgrade to "Not This Year" - I'm not going to be able to swing the time away as I have other things I can't shake. Will try again next year - hope everyone has a great time!

If your handle appears in post 3 you are included in the list of dinner participants.

If your handle appears in post 3 but you are not planning to come to the Do dinner please post in this thread or contact The_Wrath_of_Khan. Thanks.

As stated in post 6 we will be leaving the DoubleTree at 18:30 on Thursday to go to the bar. It does sound like an interesting place and drinks will be much more reasonably priced than in a hotel bar.

and for the lazy, here's a link to the menu: Drinks » DOJO Bar Naha no sojo tho

I might tweak my plans a bit and arrive in OKA Wednesday night vs Thursday afternoon, so that I can do a 5 night award booking at the DT for the 5th night free, since I still don't have a place to stay in Tokyo for Tuesday or Wednesday night.

No cover charge, more chilled out, no 1,000 yen drinks. We can't please everyone, but I think it's a really cool spot. Much more local and "authentic" than THE BAR.

If anyone is still not convinced here is the wine list of The Bar at Hyatt Regency, Naha.

http://hyattregencynaha.jp/restauran...pdf?1452754940

I can’t find any other drinks menu but according to their Japanese language website:
- Draught beer 1,000 yen
- Cocktail from 1,200 yen

Plus a cover charge of 500 yen. All prices are exclusive of tax (8%) and service (10%).

So if you go there for just one beer it will cost you nearly US $17!

I'm getting to Japan a bit before OKA DO. If anyone is interested in joining any activities, send me PM.

Mar 23 evening: search for pizza & beers in Tokyo
Mar 24: Mario Kart in the morning, Odaiba in afternoon, sushi omakase in the evening
Mar 25: Takamatsu self guided walking tour
Mar 26: Himeji castle
Mar 27: Naoshima and maybe Teshima art islands
Mar 28: Okayama garden, Kojima jeans street, and Ohara Museum of Art. Evening beers in Naha
Mar 29: If Nate can't/won't be organizing diving, I'll probably go dive Kerama or Manza regardless. Let me know if you are interested
Apr 1: Fukuoka/Daizafu
