Apologies, but looks like I'll be a late scratch. Changes at work in the new year means I'm going to be stuck in SIN for a good part of the weekend.

Not sure if this is gauche or not, and it could potentially be part of the DO plans (TBD) - I'll delete the post if it is either:

I'm thinking of heading to the Batu Caves (morning) and Ayer Panas Hawker Center (afternoon) on Thursday 1/14 if anybody is in KUL at this time and wants to join me.

Generally speaking for most DOs, if anyone is going anywhere and wouldn't mind some company, they are definitely welcome to make a post as long as it doesn't interfere with the official program.

Keep in mind that you might get a little hot and sweaty climbing the stairs at Batu Caves in the tropical heat, so do allow some rest/recuperation time before your next activities.

I was thinking that Batu Caves might be a great place for an
official Do outing (though I doubt I'd go again, being a bit
older and more out of shape than last time). Beware the
monkeys!

Agreed, however nothing has been shared from an agenda standpoint so I'm starting to make an itinerary for myself in lieu of.

I'll post the details of my itinerary tomorrow (still narrowing it down), basically it is:
  • Thursday: Batu Caves (morning), Golden Triangle/KLCC
  • Friday: Chinatown, Little India (Brickfields)
  • Saturday: Chow Kit, Masjid India, KL Tower

Above subject to change once DO plans are released. I'll delete/revise as necessary.

Sounds like a great plan! I, and a few others, don't arrive until Friday late. Do you have a time for any of these so that we could catch up to you?

Plan looks good. Too bad I won't be able to come up for the weekend.

Quick question on the Petronas Towers though, haven't been there for a few years but back then, the only way to go up to the tower (to the bridge which actually isn't very high up) is to queue up at 8am (or earlier) to obtain a ticket for later part of the day. Has this now been changed or should attendees expect not to be able to go up?

E-tickets are available as long as they are booked at least 24 hours in advance. Sunday is wide open all day. Didn't check other days.

Friday is mostly open, although the website says that they are closed on Fridays from 1:00PM to 2:30PM.

Sorry folks but I'm not going to make it this year. Already planning the 2017 trip though!

Have a great time,

thanks for the e-ticket info, chchkiwi. Looks like it's ~$20 per adult online.

Anyone want to check it out (Petronas Towers skybridge) on Sunday? It's not part of the official plan and there's nothing planned on Sunday between lunch and dinner.
