I didn't figure that out until after I booked my flights! For some reason I thought it was the week before. No wonder award flights were hard to find.

In the end I went with three different tickets:

BGO-LHR//LCY-JFK-GIG//EZE-DFW-AUS-LHR-ARN: in J at 1442 GBP ticketing in progress
RIO-SAO: will fix later
GRU-EZE: 21 GBP + 15k Avios in QR J ticketed

Will be in BUE from 3 to 8 September, see you at the do!

If you book more than a month in advance, you can easily find tickets for 20GBP. Take SDU-CGH if spending time in Sao Paulo, or SDU-GRU (on Gol) if intending to connect with QR's service...

Will probably spend a day in SAO not decided yet. I saw tickets at 24 GBP ... I suppose I can tolerate Y for that price

There is no J on the 32-minute flight. They do have cabin service though...

24h in SP is well worth ut, for a quick look around and some top-notch fine dining and nightlife.

Here is the "problem" with this forum: besides now just EZE, I am trying to figure out how to maximize my potential "well, while I'm down that way..." with additional trips. Too soon to know how much time I will have though or if I can make it there that weekend. How is the weather generally around this event time? And better yet: will there be enough Malbec for me to consume?

Side trips for you to consider include...... but are not limited to:
- Iguazu
- Mendoza
- Salta
- El Calafate
- Bariloche

Regarding Malbec.... there will be plenty to go around so rest assured you will not be left "thirsty".... ^
