FT Santa Paws Present Exchange

Last year, there was discussion on the Secret Santa thread about a Santa Paws Exchange--exchanging gifts for furry family members.

I've volunteered to coordinate it this year, so here goes...

If you want to participate, send me a PM with:
  1. Your Name
  2. Number of pets "participating"
  3. Pet name(s)
  4. Your email address
  5. Mailing address for your pet(s)
  6. Toys they like,
  7. Treats they like and any allergies or restrictions they have with regard to treats,
  8. neck measurement
  9. Any other information you wish to share that is interesting,

"Suggested" value, around $15/pet, not including shipping. I'll send our assignments by November 1, please ship presents by December 10.

If there's any interest in this, I'll coordinate it.
How could I miss it?! I'd happily exchange presents with another dog-cat family (though I might suggest a lower dollar limit for cat gifts vs. dog gifts, since, in my experience, the average cat is happy with toys that cost <$4.

The average cat is happy with the shipping box!

Count us in.

I'm the somewhat owner of a cat that does not find boxes entertaining and it's very disappointing. We also have a 2-year-old black lab who hasn't yet discovered that his brother (the cat) is of a very different species.

Anyone mind if I join in?

Cheers.

You "own" a cat?

You must be unique in human society, as it's usually the other way around

Count me in, I will send you the details. I am down to one cat as when my son moved out of state he took two of the three cats. It was a VERY sad day for me but the best thing for the cats. Jax is a box lover too but he does like his toys as well.

BTW Jax has no rules, he does what he wants. He is quite the ornery cat, he probably deserves a lump of coal because he is usually on the naughty list. I guess that is what I get for naming him after a Sons of Anarchy character, naughty kitty.

Count us in.

[Hiss! FT changes my cat emoticon to something bizarre!]

This household has 3 felines who love boxes and what is inside them. The Alpha Cat has figured out that his favorite food arrives in the mail and he inspects every package that arrives.

Maybe link to this thread from the Travel with Pets forum to let more folks know about it?

That's a good idea! I'll try to take care of that tonight.

Clearly you haven't priced cat toys lately.

My SIL sent a Hot Pursuit toy to my cats last Christmas, and it is possibly the best cat toy ever. The cats here request it to be turned on so often that I finally invested in rechargeable batteries for the thing.

To be fair, I think the dollar amount should be the same no matter what the species. That might discourage hamster and parakeet owners from participating.

Is $15 ok, or should it be more/less?
