Flyertalkers Truly Are Everywhere

So as many of you know (because it's my favorite topic of conversation) I'm a law student. Today I was minding my own business before class started and my Education Law professor walked up to me. Of course I immediately worried I was in trouble for something but instead he said "you're CMK10". I was at a complete loss for words and I asked him how he knew and he said "oh I've been on Flyertalk longer than you have".

We ended up having a talk about the merits of Hyatt vs. Marriott, a nice way to start my morning.

I think through deductive reasoning. He mentioned seeing my post here:

And I do have a FT tag on my backpack that I carry around school. Plus, there are pictures of me in my Trip Reports so it probably wasn't too difficult.

That is so cool, CMK10! Wish one of my professors was a FT'er. Go Devils!

I've never had a student who was an FTer. (I use enough examples from the air travel industry that I think a frequent flyer would identify himself or herself.) However, I did have one ex-American Airlines employee who recognized the Executive Platinum luggage tag on my backpack. As best I recall, he got a pretty good grade - though not for that reason.

Haha...I can be your first FT student. Hello Professor, it is nice to finally meet you. It is really awesome to have a professor, who understands and appreciates your passion for flying!

.
Of course the down side is you can't miss a class or exam by being 'sick' when instead you're on a mileage run, as he'd probably read about it on FT

Cheers.

But on the bright side, he might not only accept MR as a valid excuse, but even cancel class to join you.

This made me grin because I've done this before... EXP took priority over a Micro Lab

I saw an FTer with her yellow luggage tags this morning in the Global Entry line at YVR airport. Due to the frenzy, I really couldn't have a conversation. But it was cool to spot someone from FT!

Are the merits weighed using a balancing test, or a three-prong test?

Gotta ask - what are you doing in class post-bar exam? Are you sure you weren't dreaming?

Go get on a plane - you'll feel better...

"You have the right to remain silent..."

This could be a blessing or a curse!

Click "Extras" at the top of this (or any other) page, then select "FlyerTalk Merchandise" from the menu that will drop down. It's the first item on the page you'll go to.
