Thanks for the encouragement to a horse loving noob.
Glad to hear it. Fairfield is 2-3 blocks maybe from 4Pts.

Switching Hotels

Glad to hear it. Fairfield is 2-3 blocks maybe from 4Pts.
Hmm, just reread the posts and realized that everyone else is staying at 4Pts. Is that where the last DO was held? I was concerned that a lot of the reviews say it's tired and worn out - are they incorrect or just expecting a higher end place?

I think I'll switch and hope for the best (I have absolutely no status with Sheraton.)

Last 2 times this was the central hotel. Before that people stayed various places.

IMO and probably that of others in this thread who have stayed there, it's not correct to say it's worn out. Did not hear any complaints. It's your standard 4Pts/Holiday Inn/Fairfield-type place, in decent shape. Call it 2.75-3.00 stars.

There is a Fairfield down the street which KMA26 told me is sold out already.
Interesting -- as a Marriott person, I usually check them as a default. Last Thurs, the Fairfield Lexington North showed as sold out for all three weekends of next April's Keeneland meet. Now as has been mentioned, there is availability. They also didn't have my registration in the Mega Bonus promo last Thurs either, but now it's there. Makes you go Hmmmm.

Hopefully DT will be on tap when we get to lex. I love that town.
Based on your recommendation mile ho we'll be trying the Indra Kunindra next week at San Diego Beer Week. And we too have fond memories of DT on tap at the Beer Trappe in LEX. Hopefully next April too.

Booked at the 4 Pts for the LEX Do IV.

I find it very interesting that so many of the past attendees are returning. I'm glad.

Found a new eatery ~ Gumbo Ya Ya that we might need to try. Also Country Boy Brewery was a nice find.
