I'm a newbie as well and would love to attend. I will bring a large notepad and will have a ton of questions. You might not want to sit next to me : )

The YES list for this event is really growing! :) I'm excited to meet everyone... and it's also nice knowing that I will not be the only new FT'er that will be in attendance.
PS: I enjoy pickles just as much as the next so I'm curious to see what the outcome of this pickle situation ends up being... |
Tacos and pickles. Nice to know that CVS is nearby. :D

Do they sell anything other than VR though? I thought it was just a prepaid card store.
So, after the DO, everyone will have two reasons to go to CVS -- both those who learn about VR, and those who discover a new meaning for "DO". mikeef must already be thinking of a corner on all of this, Marathon Man's thinking of another Pampers question, and JY1024's wondering how he's going to keep attendees' FlyerTalk posts from smartphones at the DO civilized. |
Thanks for the warm welcome!
I'm starting to wonder if pickles is flyer talk speak for some type of manufactured spending... I am really looking forward to meeting all of you. |

FYI, for all the first-timers, people who have forgotten what we look like or people who are trying to block out the image of my ugly mug, I usually try to get there about 5:45. We'll likely be outside, unless there's inclement weather, in which case we'll take it as it comes that day. Look for yellow FT tags!

Pickle story from Quincy

Believe it or not, it's really about pickles. One FTer, I believe it's Greek2Me, lives near famous pickle store or something and brings in pickles for the fanatics in Boston.
Mike QUINCY, Mass. (AP) — A Quincy woman is facing an assault charge for allegedly punching a restaurant worker for putting too many pickles on her steak and cheese sandwich, police said Monday. Tina Drouin, 49, ordered the sub from Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs in the Quincy Center subway/commuter rail station at about 2 p.m. Saturday, according to MBTA police. Drouin started loudly complaining, used a profanity, and made other derogatory comments about the ratio of certain ingredients as the worker prepared the sandwich, police said. Finally, she demanded a refund. The worker refused. That’s when Drouin allegedly punched the female worker in the face, and pushed over two large pickle jars, knocking the worker to the floor and shattering the jars, police said. Drouin ran from the station with the worker in pursuit. The worker nabbed Drouin nearby outside city hall and held her until police arrived. Drouin told police the episode began when the sandwich maker put ‘‘too many pickles’’ on her lunch. She complained to police of neck pain and was taken to a hospital. She'll be summoned to Quincy District Court to face an assault charge, police said. The Associated Press couldn’t locate a listed phone number for her. http://www.boston.com/news/local/mas...GaM/story.html |

Well, it is manufactured spend if you can feed the pickles to the addicts and pay for it with a CC ;).

Yup, Mike is correct. Reins Deli is on my way from CT to Boston and Marathon Man is a huge fan, so I brought some to a DO last year.
