And yeah, toss in a DR browns cream soda too lol

hey maybe people should mail you their INK cards and grab some OD Vanillas on the way up lol. We have no OD here but there are a few in CT.

Anyway this is great and so is your baseball mentality. Looking forward to meeting you and thanks in adv for the pickles.

I think sour miles might work... as Mr Pickles is taken (but not stirred).
Happy to export sour pickles and soda, but we CT milers draw the line at ODs leaving the state. I think a state law just passed making it a felony to carry one across state lines.

dagnabit! Then I'll have to do a MR to visit you with more pickles some time then, and grab some ODs on the way and we can sit together with rounds of strange beers and contemplate dental floss

yup... a good 2+hr one way ride for me from where I reside... aint doable and not sure IF they even have VNs there.

On that note, and I appeal to this gang for this gig:

I had mentioned in some circles the following matrix:

I had seen some VNs in Walgreens. WG doesn't take CCs for these or at least none of the 8-10 or so I have been to in my area do. But you could 'liberate' them from the store (btw if you ask nicely, some stores may just let you take a blank or three anyway) and then go to an OD and pretend you found them on the rack... They are un-valued and not yet loaded when in WG, so you then 'buy them' at OD and they should work--that is unless they are somehow internally coded to only work at WG or something, or if your OD knows they have absolutely NONE anywhere in stock.

The VNs at WG look no different, and so one other part to this plan might be to inform the OD manager that some friend of yours who is, say, in the military had to leave home now and got you some blanks from the store manager of the OD where HE shops, but he obviously cannot use them, so would you please do him the favor of buying them and enjoying them in his stead? etc etc. (many may instantly cast you in a good light if you mention things like military and patriotism and such) so this too may work.

Yes, this could be considered borderline by some, and it is a huge workaround and I have yet to try it myself, but even if this is a scheme that everyone thinks has bad juju written all over it, one has to at least gimme credit for thinkin' it up, right?

Sadly, I have, in the past several weeks, asked a good 4-6 people to try this schema at an OD near them but have NOT gotten a single yes or no answer on it (strange). Maybe they are like, "Yah whatever dude, I will go try it --sure" and that's that.

Sooooo, anyway, maybe I WOULD make that long drive to Shopper's World or beyond (for other things too, of course) IF I knew this crazed concoction would actually work! As a thank you for presenting a tip of this nature that MAY help many of us M.......s (and fellow DO readers from all over) in our quest for the lucrative OD, will someone here PLEASE give it a shot and lemme know?

Ah, a braggart... You'll fit right in. But what would be the point - what would we learn - if everyone who attends weren't?

There aren't any formal presentations at these - at least not yet - allowing for mikeef possibly having a master plan for the future - but it would be nice to have a special time to come close to suchlike with a mind dump of the highlights of the October seminars if any who attended them is so disposed, and ambient noise allows for the tapping of a beer glass to be heard....... @:-)

Never Vanilla reloads there, sadly.

My master plan will eventually involve a presentation of sorts, but only tangentially related to miles. I'll be happy to discuss in detail on Monday night.

Rick, you write faster than just about anyone. Should we pow-wow after the Do (not necessarily that night) and put together a master list of what we discussed, emailable to anyone who attended?

Glad to help any way I can, but as I have said, I don't think at the same speed as many who attend. Hopefully you get what most people are talking about. I've joked about the person who just sat there goggle-eyed last year -- as I obviously missed my own self-awareness:

But yes.

Oh, one other caveat: Would it curb any contributions (to put it most discreetly)?

Well, there's the difficulty of keeping up with multiple tables. Also, I'm assuming the discussion varies wildly from total newb to highly advanced, and also likely jumps from one end of the spectrum to the other. Would there be an option to have certain things blocked from being reported? I could talk about a lot of things to be honest, some above the board, some in the middle, and some arts of a darker shade, but having an "official" written record may not be the best idea, at least not for what I perceive to still be more of a gathering/meetup than a full out, organized DO. Of course, I have not attended before, so take my thoughts for what it is worth.

I don't know if it would curb contributions, since the email would only be going to people who were there, anyway. However, there does seem to be some resistance (not the TSA kind) to the idea, so I will, in this case, amend my original statement to this: Help will always be given to those at Hogwarts who deserve it. If you don't understand something, ask. If you are too shy to ask, jot down your question and PM me later.

Sounds like a good plan. I'm looking forward to meeting those that I haven't met before.
