There is a renovated double tree downtown, an almost new Hilton garden inn, new homewood suites and a Hampton inn that is not too bad on the west side of town

The Marriott is ok, but a little old, and stay away from the Embassy Suites

thanks! Got the HGI for $79 refundable and with free breakfast this is probably a pretty decent deal.

That one was an AmeriSuites before, it was renovated something like 5 years ago, haven't stayed there, but should be OK, good reviews on Yelp

I hope Sweet Willie does come. I gotta show him a certain All You Can Eat Chinese buffet near Gateway West Blvd that is somewhat better than the one on Touhy Ave next to a bank.

Platbrownguy: There are some good BBQ places in El Paso that serve good brisket that I can show you.

As for lodging, I still have my house near ELP, so I can crash there.

p.s. put me down + a few more. I have a lot of friends in El Paso.

The more the merrier.

IIRC, critical mass for a party at The Mansion is at about 200.

200, not quite that many, but we can accommodate quite a few, an in October we should have good enough weather to have it outside in the evening

Outside is good. We can also set up some bleachers so that everyone will get a chance to watch the myefre and the koi show.

That might be part of The Mansion™ by then. Its westward expansion is rumored to be starting soon.

We'll be there, likely arriving by TDI Beetle on the 26th. I'm sure I'll be ready for a nap by the time we finally reach The Mansion™.

By my count this should be ELP VII, so there's some catching up to do.

And Cholula STILL hasn't shown us where the bodies are.

Wasn't Canarsie's picture enough. Do we really have to watch the real thing?

Based on the MLB ASG result, it's possible I can make this DO.

Arrow SFOTerry

I know that you are joining us if the Giants are out of the playoffs but what do those initials MLB ASG stand for?
